Nice resort
We stayed here for a week in one of the suites. Great room- great view! Staff was very nice. It is a bit isolated, as there are no stores nearby. There is a gift shop, but with limited amenities. I had to take a $30 taxi to get some cold medicine. Uber's are scarce here- most don't want to drive all the way to the resort. Taxis into the city will run you $30-$40. There are 4 pools, however, none are designated as an adult pool. I spoke to the manager about the screaming kids, but he said they no longer have an adult pool, so there's nothing he can do. The resort allows locals to purchase a "day pass", and that seems to be the source of all the kids. The restaurants are good- definitely choose the a la carte at Tierra y Fuego or Asiana. Good wine lists (not too expensive for bottles). Overall, a great resort, minus the kids.

A bit worn, friendly staff
We enjoyed our two day stay because it was warm and staff were friendly. But the hotel needs some significant repairs and pool food was disappointing. Brunch was great. Executive Lounge food was mixed.

Place to get away
I learned about this hotel from Trip Advisor and recommended by friends. It is indeed a destination hotel. There is nothing (shops, banks, etc) close by. Anticipate having a car or use Uber/taxis (it is very difficult getting Ubers by the hotel, plan on expensive taxis). In many aspects the hotel is wonderful. The staff are very efficient, accommodating, helpful and friendly. Our room — a king size bed overlooking the ocean was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The view was breathtaking. We ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel most days. Service was good, and what we ordered was delicious. We ate supper at restaurants in town. Panama has great eateries and I recommend exploring the various cuisines. The pool area is huge — Four pools and a large beach. We were there the week after New Year’s. While it was busy it wasn’t crowded. You can order food and drinks from staff l, if you can find one (or go to the beach bar hut). However, for a resort of this caliber, staff should constantly be floating around getting orders and serving, Don’t expect to be served on the beach. The outside of the building needs a paint job and needs to be refurbished. There’s peeling paint in some areas. Also, same can be said for the outdoor furniture. It needs to be changed out. Some chaises and tables need repair . All in all a good place to get away and a 20 minute Uber/cab ride to town

Playa Bonita
Compared to other resorts, the Westin is good. The hotel location is perfect for visiting Casco Viejo and Panama City (15 minutes ride) or you can stay at the hotel to have fun in pools and the ocean vista. You have to understand the beach is on the pacific ocean so the water is cold and the beach isn't like the Atlantic Ocean. If you are looking for sandy beaches with no tides, this is not the place. The staff at the front desk, restaurants, and room service is very good. The food is also very good but pool service and beaches are slow and the menu offered is limited. Also, the transportation service is incredibly friendly and kind. I recommend it as they have the drop service in the city and later pick up.

Lackluster food and beverage
While the rooms are more or less okay, and Armando and the front desk staff were wonderful, the restaurants and bars were lackluster and with staff that could not seem more indifferent. The resort has so much potential, but we didn't get the value that we expected from this property. And, because the restaurants were so bad, we added about 40 USD per day in Ubers to get to normal places to eat.
