Always A Gem To Stay At

It's always a great stay at The Westin here in Toronto. I live here and was attending an event just 10 min away on a Monday night. So instead.of traveling from home to the event and back then go back downtown to work. The Westin Harbour Castle Hotel is one of our best hotels ans even though the outside may be showing its age somewhat, the rooms, lobby, bars are great. The views are awesome. I thank Westin for the room. Nothing like going to bed looking at a great view and waking up to one. I will definitely stay here again when attending an event nearby. Rooms are big, beds are oh, so comfy. Shower was spot on. The elevators in the North Tower are being overhauled so only 3 are working for now. I physically checked in and the staff were great. Seems all Marriott owned properties have top notch staff. Thanks again!

    Excellent customer service

We stayed here for three nights at the end of our first family holiday to Canada. The room was a little dated and I was sorry not to have been in one of the updated rooms. There was some construction noise on our floor (25) from that work. However, the warm welcome we received from Raj at the check in desk made a very positive impression. He is customer service personified and a credit to the hotel. We have noticed that in our experience of this hotel chain, although they are very large/corporate, they excel at good, personal customer service. Thank you Raj for making us so welcome. Buffet breakfast is very good and gluten free very well provided for. Service at breakfast is consistently excellent too. Our kids loved the pool. Finally, we had no problem with the lifts reported in other reviews. One was out of order but no queues.

    A great place to stay

On arrival at the hotel we had to wait over an hour to get into our room so we had some food in the bar which was very good. The reception area is very spacious with a carry out coffee shop and a gift shop.We placed our luggage in a holding room. Our room on the 6th floor was quite spacious with a large balcony with a great view over the lake which at night was amazing to watch a multitude of different kinds of boats. This is the renovated wing .The style is old fashioned with dark furniture .The king size bed was very comfortable and had great pillows. The bathroom was quite small but adequate.Room quiet at night Daniela who works in the hotel had dealt with upgrading our room to include the balcony and she also arranged for a cheese plate and a bottle of wine to be in our room on arrival for my husband's birthday which was greatly appreciated. Only complaint was the cleaner arrived twice at night to clean the room when you are getting ready to go out even though we had asked for this not to happen. We had included breakfast which was a buffet and lots of choice of fruit, cereal, eggs, cheese, smoked salmon etc. There is also an omelette station.Service was very good even at the weekend when very busy. This hotel is in a great location and right next to the ferry terminal for the islands and water taxis. The Harbour area and restaurants etc are all within walking distance. The train station is also nearby. The city centre is also close. It tales approx 20 minutes as to walk to the C N Tower. We hired the hotels bikes and took them over to the island and also to a beach on another day.The cost was $10 CD for 3 hours. These are electric bikes but can be changed to manual as required on the island.Heavy to manouvre but great fun. The commissioners were all extremely helpful with all queries and requests. We even met Daniela which was fantastic to thank her for her help. Overall we loved the hotel and the extremely helpful staff.

    First class hotel

Hotel was awesome. We booked three suites for a week and everything met and exceeded our expectations. The suites were spacious and all areas of the hotel were clean. Staff in all areas of the hotel were extremely well trained, competent and pleasant. I would strongly recommend this hotel

Great hotel - would stay again!

Definitely would visit Toronto and stay in this hotel again! Although city view room, we did see some of the harbor and the room was clean, nice. Also good location. Had to park across the street corner since valet parking wasn't available. But it worked out well, wasn't an issue. In fact, we just kept our car parked and took public transportation around Toronto.
