Comfortable and Convenient
The hotel was located one block from my office so location was everything. This was a quick trip from the east coast. The front desk person was pleasant and professional. My room was ready early because I did mobile check in. Score!!! The rooms are dated, but comfortable and clean. I appreciated the gym and the bistró. My only negative comment is that the halls ways in the guess room area, required vacuuming.

Disgusting
Walking into the lobby, the hotel seemed like a nice choice, that is, until we walked into our unit. The room had a musty smell right when you walked in and you could feel the humidity in the room. I have a newborn so I take a thermostat with me, and it showed that the room was at 80% humidity. The carpet felt slightly wet and I found mold in the bathroom. I have never had this experience before in a hotel before. Nevertheless, when we complained, the front desk was very rude and now accommodating. First time staying with Westin in downtown LA, and last this will be the last time.

Love this property!
Love staying at this property. In fact this is pretty much my go-to for LA. It’s not the newest in downtown, but it has tons of personality. Great location. Great staff. Food (breakfast and restaurants, especially Prime) are outstanding. Well done as usual Westin!

Horrible.
This is NOT the hotel for you if like me you suffer from vertigo. The building is obviously an architect dream but a nightmare for residents. Due to my vertigo, I was allowed to go to my room using service elevator but then I was trapped when the doors to said elevator were locked. As the phone in my room didn't work, I couldn't contact anyone to help me. I nearly had to miss out on rest of my tour of Los Angeles, luckily another member of the tour realised I was missing and remembered my dear of heights and they came to help me. After our your we decided to go to the pool, very difficult to get to and no one around to ask for directions..

Check for Bed for Blood before Getting In
Please inspect room thoroughly before sleeping. There were bloodstains in multiple places on the bed, near the bathroom lightswitch, and on the shower curtain. When management was notified, I was simply offered "the bed to be remade" . After not being called back as promised, I had to contact housekeeping and the front desk, who offered "5,000 Bonvoy points". I informed management that I have pictures and that an employee himself did arrive in the room to verify the stains. We did not see the blood until AFTER having slept on it as we arrived in Los Angeles late and went straight to bed. This was by far the most disgusting and egregious stay I have ever had in a hotel, and it was made far worse by the apparent lack of concern that the hotel had in response, given the need for multiple communications on my end, as well as a pathetic offer for 5,000 bonvoy points.
