Jun 05, 2023Destination Wedding- Paradise Resort, that feels like family
We stayed at the Sands for our Destination Wedding, along with about 30 of our family & friends. The entire staff was amazing to us... Meshell, the Sands Group Coordinator, personally met up with my then fiance & I, and went above-and-beyond to ensure that all our wedding plans ran smoothly.. she is extremely professional, yet so very kind, and even gave us a special wedding gift!! Barbara in the front reception area was so sweet and an absolute pleasure to interact with! Oral, Samuel, and Jackson were class-acts, so eager to help with everything from getting our bags to calling us taxis, and always had the kindest smiles on their faces. Our housekeeper Laurence was a sweetheart as well, and did a wonderful job keeping our room tidy with special touches during our stay there. Also want to give a shout-out to all the other amazing ladies of the front office team who assisted us during our stay: Glaidyra, Alicia, Claudine, Monica, & Renika... thank you all for making our stay a memorable experience!! We had our own outside personal stressors that we were dealing with, and all these employees and others I'm sure I forgot to mention, made our stay there a wonderful & memorable experience. Angel was so helpful with getting our room block and reservations made. Carolyn at Hemingway's Restaurant and her staff were amazing hosting our Wedding Welcome Dinner, and their food was phenomenal!! Wonderful location, fantastic amenities, and a gorgeous view of the famous blue waters of Grace Bay Beach. We saw security personnel walking the grounds and the adjoining beach, late at night. We felt very safe & secure there. They had the cutest little lizards roaming around the property!! We loved seeing them :) Beautiful trees, flowers, and gardens on property!! From when we arrived to their delicious welcome drink, to the time we left, we felt like family there. All of our friends & family called it a dream getaway! We will definitely be back!!

Perfect quiet location.
We love the Sands! Our 3rd time staying here and really enjoy everything about it. The beach is perfect and because there are no resorts on either side the beach is never overcrowded. The hotel grounds & landscaping are beautiful & the hotel location is great. One of the few hotels that you can walk to shopping & dining. We love the quiet relaxed atmosphere & that there are 3 pools. The rooms aren’t as posh as some other resorts but they are still nice & very clean. Hemingways is great too!

Feels like home
As soon as we arrived, we were home. We stayed for 9 wonderful days. While waiting to check in, Oral arrived and greeted us and took us to our room. As soon as he saw us, he gave us a hug and welcomed us. We loved room 5201. It had been decorated with flowers in the bathroom, done by Helen. She was wonderful and took very good care of us and the room during our stay. During our stay, we talked with Barbara several times, and can't wait to go back next year!

Great property; I hope to return
It was really pretty great. Our 2 bedroom 2 bath condo was incredibly spacious and well-appointed. The staff at the resort were all great. Their helpfulness and happy attitude made us feel valued and welcome. The grounds were cute with pretty gardens and even hammocks in a coconut grove. In addition to the regular swimming pool, there were 2 small pools connected with canals. Swimming through the canals felt like swimming through a private garden with many private spaces to hang out. They provided snorkels, floaties, even kid toys for playing in sand. The outdoor deck was screened and had quality teak furniture. They have a convenience store which is pretty well stocked with anything you need. The Sands is a calm and peaceful resort with a low-key, relaxed vibe. I mention this as comparison to the all-inclusive resort down the beach. We enjoyed an uncrowded beach with ample beach chairs, umbrellas, and palapas. Overall, we loved staying at The Sands and hope to return.

YOU WILL BE GRATEFUL TO TAKE THE CHANCE ON THE SANDS
We just came back from the most amazing experience at The Sands and cant wait to get back. I know there are a lot of "outdated " reviews guess it is about what your expectations are but our room (1205) was fabulous, it had a lovely ocean view and was kept clean daily. espresso ? no .....1000 count spreadsheet ? no but the bed was very comfortable , rooms were very quiet, i was able to make a fresh pot of coffee every morning and I was less than 100 steps from the most beautiful beachfront. Best of all I paid very little compared to the neighboring resorts who had less space and less beach front. My room was cleaned every day by lunch. The beachfront can not be beat...no one to the left of you and no one to the right. So private, no problem getting a pupala (sp? ) every day and we did not have to wake up at the crack of dawn to battle for one. I also didn't experience any negative views or comments about the service as we were never greeted with anything less than a smile (special shout out to jessila who worked our departure and was able to give us a one hour late checkout on a tuesday and Omaralla (sp?) who got our bags to the room. From the gentlemen who gave us towels at the beach to the landscapers we passed daily, they could not have been nicer. The kitchenette was perfect ; they even got us a can opener when we needed one. Location was perfect . I think the biggest plus were the other visitors we met that have returned year after year. It was our first trip but we met so many couples who come year after year because they recognize what a bargain The Sands is. Already dreaming about our trip next year. Thank you so much for an amazing introduction to a beautiful island. PSA travel on a weekday to avoid or at least limit chaos in airport. That was the best advice we got !
