The Ivens Hotel was home to the first luxury warehouse in the city in the XIX century as well as of the first Portuguese public. The iconic building is in every way representative of the XIX century, a period which has marked the spirit and culture of Lisbon. The hotel has 87 unique and comfortable rooms, of which ten are spacious suites including two signature top floor suites. The entrance was mapped to resemble the journey of Ivens and Capelo, two of greatest Portuguese explorers to unveil Africa back on the XIX century. The hotel holds three cinematic dining areas designed by Lázaro Rosa Violan who offer a journey through Italian cuisine, al fresco dining and a "Barra" area.

    Gorgeous Hotel

Based on reviewing Marriott Bonvoy’s offerings in Lisbon I chose The Ivens as the place for us to stay one night following a Mediterranean cruise. The reception rooms in this hotel are the most gorgeous ever. The service was attentive. The surrounding area interesting to explore. Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

    piece of art

The hotel is a piece of art. You can spend all day just reading all the coffee table books and having a drink from the beautiful bar connected. The location is prime. Everyone was very helpful and kind.
