Repeated Guest—This Stay Was Unacceptable (Noise, Misrepresentation, Poor Accountability)
As an eight-time guest of The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, I’ve consistently chosen this property for its reputation as a luxury, relaxing destination. This stay (April 10–13), however, was a complete breakdown of that expectation. I brought a group of 22 people for a 40th birthday, and while there were isolated positives—dinner at Manta remains excellent—the overall experience was unacceptable. The most serious issue was the hotel’s failure to disclose major events. A wedding closed the rooftop bar on Saturday, and a separate music event produced extreme, club-level bass that continued until nearly sunrise. This occurred multiple nights and made sleep virtually impossible. This is not a minor inconvenience—it fundamentally defeats the purpose of booking a luxury hotel. The impact was significant. We had a $5,000 Viking yacht charter (“Avicii”) scheduled the following morning, and much of the group was exhausted and dragging due to lack of sleep. Even dinner at Manta, which is normally a highlight, was affected because everyone was simply too tired to enjoy it. Equally concerning, at the pool bar we repeatedly ordered premium tequila (Ocho) but observed standard tequila being poured while being charged for premium. That raises serious concerns about integrity and billing practices. We escalated these issues during and after our stay. Despite involvement from the guest experience team, including Nerea Vives, the response lacked accountability and meaningful resolution. This property no longer aligns with the expectations it promotes. Returning guests should be aware: the experience has changed—and not for the better.

Will go back again
It's a great hotel with incredible atmosphere. The pool is a vibe. The club goes a little late on Sat night but if tiyre up for it, its fun.

An Elevated Cabo Babymoon Experience
We visited Cabo for our babymoon during my second trimester (20 weeks) and stayed for 5 days, 4 nights. Coming from Los Angeles, it’s hard to beat a quick 2.5-hour flight for such a relaxing, resort-style getaway. Cabo is a great babymoon destination for that reason alone. One of our initial concerns was mosquitoes due to the pregnancy. At The Cape, we didn’t see a single mosquito during our stay. However, at Secrets, there were quite a few, especially at night, so I’d definitely recommend bringing bug repellent. Our first room at Secrets even had mosquitoes inside due to a broken balcony door, but the staff was very accommodating and promptly moved us to another room. Secrets has a golf course and more greenery, which likely contributes to the higher mosquito presence. We had read reviews saying that 3 days in Cabo felt like too much, so we split our stay between two resorts, spending 2.5 days (2 nights) at The Cape and 2.5 days (2 nights) at Secrets. This ended up being a great decision and gave us two distinct experiences. The Cape is the more luxurious and upscale of the two and is easily one of the top five nicest hotels we’ve stayed at. We visited in mid-April, initially worried about spring break crowds, but it was actually very quiet aside from a small wedding. We had no issues getting seating at any of the restaurants, including Point Break, The Ledge, and Manta. The property itself is stunning and very picturesque, with beautiful ocean views. Every room faces the ocean, and even our partial ocean view room had an incredible view. Dining was a bit hit or miss depending on the restaurant. At The Ledge, service was excellent, but the food was underwhelming. While the complimentary bread was fantastic, the chili soup, chicken dish, and risotto didn’t meet expectations, so we would rate it a 3 out of 5. Point Break was a great casual option and we especially loved the nachos, which we would rate a 4 out of 5. Manta was the standout dining experience. We did the omakase as well as ordered from the regular menu, including dumplings and fish tacos, and everything was exceptional, easily a 5 out of 5. Service across the entire resort was consistently excellent, and we would definitely recommend trying all three restaurants during your stay. The infinity pool is gorgeous with breathtaking views, and the rooms are top notch. You can even see the Arch of Cabo from the hotel. That said, the resort itself is more suited for a quiet, romantic escape rather than a lively, activity packed stay. It’s perfect for couples or a relaxing trip with friends. Fortunately, Cabo San Lucas is just a 10-minute drive away. We highly recommend making a trip there, especially around the marina area, which is more tourist friendly and has plenty of dining options. We ventured further into the city, but it was less tourist oriented, so we would suggest sticking closer to the marina for convenience. As a transportation tip, Uber was significantly cheaper, about three times less expensive going into the city and about twice as cheap for airport transfers. Overall, we found that 5 days, or around 4 nights, is the sweet spot for a Cabo trip. 1 more day would've been nice as well. We are really glad we split our stay between two resorts to get different experiences. The Cape is not all inclusive, while Secrets is, and interestingly, some of the dining at Secrets rivaled, and in some cases exceeded, The Ledge and Point Break, and even came close to Manta. Secrets also has the added benefit of being close to the Art District, which is worth visiting for its boutique shops, galleries, and souvenir stores, exactly the kind of experience you look for in a destination like Cabo.

Breathtaking views
We went for an anniversary trip. The lobby, restaurants, pools and rooms are all situated to take advantage of breathtaking views of the arch. Our room was spotlessly clean and the decor was very sleek but still cozy. We absolutely loved lounging by the pool with perfect skinny margaritas. Our meal at Manta was one of our favorites. The breakfast buffet had so many delicious fresh and local choices. We can't wait to go back.
