    Disappointing vacation!

The hotel was clean and the staff efficient. We were at the same hotel three years ago and had a completely different experience which was very good. This time it was way too overcrowded and allowing people in on day passes which didn’t help the crowded situation. I read other reviews which complained of many guests getting sick which was definitely the case on this trip. Many were vomiting and had diarrhea so definitely a problem with the food. Out of our group of eight, only two would return to this resort. Also didn’t like the time share or club member pressure to buy in. On the whole, very disappointing acation!

    January 2023 trip

This is the second time staying here, the first time ten years ago. Much hasn’t changed as far as the facilities are concerned. Check in was easy. The food is good at the buffet but we didn’t partake in it but two days of seven. We dined at the ala carte restaurants mainly. One thing that was very strange is in the buffet room whether for breakfast or dinner there was never salt or pepper I would believe most guests were retirement age or close to it. Kids play area looked good for families. They just opened up a pickle ball court two days before we left. Went on the bike trip a few days but the bikes need to be replaced which I was told was going to happen soon. The beds were hard and even with some foam padding were not comfortable. Another guest I spoke with had the same problem. I think the quality and choices of liquor very low. On Sunday night they had a duo that was quite loud that echoed through the whole hotel. Not pleasant. Lastly unless you pay extra for it you will only get wi fi in the lobby and even then you’ll be lucky. I just think that for the money you pay you should be able to connect at least in your room. The staff is really great and helpful. Ixtapa itself is nice and easy to navigate the beach is great and there are some massages down the beach which are well worth visiting. In closing I wouldn’t recommend this place to friends or family, there are other places that cost the same amount that are better and add in all the little negatives it’s just not good enough.

Pleased with our choice of Sunscape Dorado Pacifico Ixtapa

Had a wonderful 10 days. The resort staff were all fantastic. The entertainment staff, Carlos, Rafael, Micaela, Candy and the rest went above and beyond to keep us entertained. Simon, Raymondo, Arnoldo, at the swim-up bar, catered to what ever drink we chose and tweaked it to our liking. Sabina, who cleaned our room left it spotless and well stocked with whatever we needed. On the whole all the staff catered to our needs promptly and cheerfully. Food was good in all the restaurants, unfortunately we were unable to try the Mexican Restaurant as it was closed due to the renovations on the balconies above it, but other guests told us that it was very good. The two “Fusion Nights” had great food and entertainment. On the down side our ocean view room also faced the resort next door so tended to be quite noisy till the wee hours of the morning because of their disco music. The pool area is one large pool with kids area at one end and the swim-up bar at the other. Unfortunately families with children tended to sit and play on the stair entrance at the adult end of the pool as well as leaving their water toys and shoes on and around the stairs making it difficult and unsafe for anyone needing to access the pool. An easy fix would be to move the dividing rope to under the bridge spanning the pool and making one side the family side and the other side for adults only. Also if security would keep tabs on keeping the stairs clear it would help. Internet connections are only available in the lobby and very poor at best. This needs to be upgraded to free Wifi in the rooms. All in all we had a great stay at this resort and would love to return again.

    Sunscape does it again!!

Another wonderful vacation. Can't say enough about the staff being so friendly and accomodating. They are definitely making great strides in stopping people reserving multiple chairs in the morning and not using them for hours. It was extremely nice to see Dolce again, who did a superb job for our wedding last year. This year it was Christofer the concierge who assisted me with preparing our room with flowers and extra touches to surprise my wife upon our arrival. Kudos to Sunscape and all the staff for a wonderful time.

    Awesome resort. Would definitely come.

Awesome. Food was good, people very friendly. Christopher checked on us daily. When saw us he always came over and asked how our day was. Truly an awesome person! The beach is beautiful. We walked it everyday, twice a day. Did water aerobics everyday. The girls were awesome. Felt very safe here. We walked to the market and was never scared. The bike tour from resort was awesome also. We rode on an awesome bike path to Playa Linda.
