Jan 17, 2026"We are full" Zero dinner options for my crew on NYE
I was extremely disappointed to check in on New Year's Eve and find that we could not make a reservation at ANY restaurant on the property. We were continuously told, "We are full." To be really clear, we were denied entry to all the restaurants on the property. We eventually begged for a table at the lowest-end restaurant and watched tables at the main event sit empty the entire time. New Year's Eve pricing was 2x that of other nights.

The resort is nice. Lots of staff and they keep it very clean. They do have a problem with crows. They are all over the outside eating area in the morning. Snatching packets of sugar and ripping them open and eating it. Of course they are crapping on everything as well. I did see a guy with a hawk a couple of times and the birds were less on those days. We had a beautiful ocean view suite. It was perfect until they had a wedding. They held it right underneath our room. Once the music started it was so loud it felt like they were set up in our room. We phoned to complain and were told the music would stop at 11. And it did but by then we had been listening to it for 3-4 hours. A few nights later the Emporio resort next door had a party. My god the music was louder than what we had earlier and it went until close to 2am. A few nights later they had a wedding and again loud music but this time it stopped around 11. The air conditioning in the room also had a rattle. Because of the noise I would not go back. We moved down the street( preplanned) to the Barcelo and had a wonderful peaceful experience. Sad beacause the aSunscape is a nice place

A perfectly nice hotel in every way, except one, the food. The only way around this is to go outside the hotel to have your meals. Only the breakfast has are good many restaurants around and a short bus ride to Zihuatanego where you have several restaurant options.

Jan 13, 2026Family Vacation with 3 generations in Ixtapa!
We loved our week at the Sunscape in Ixtapa! We have travelled to the area many times and this was our first time at this resort. Overall this was an excellent experience - the staff is wonderful and the food selection was one of the best ones we have seen at an all inclusive. This resort would be perfect for anyone travelling with younger children. The snack truck, kids water area and Big Fun Zone have lots of great amenities to keep kids busy and having fun. The breakfast buffet in Windows restaurant had an excellent selection - even a smoothie bar! Download the Hyatt App when you get there - it is very helpful. About the only complaint that I would have is the air conditioning wasn't great in our room but that was minor. We also used the photographers to have some family photos done which turned out excellent. We will definitely go back!

Our favorite winter getaway
I noticed that there was a little bit of positive change this year at the hotel. Little cleaner particularly in the pool and pool restroom area. We always enjoy the staff they are what makes the trip worth going. There are some people on that staff that have been there for the 20 years that I’ve been going and they are such wonderful people. We wouldn’t go anywhere else. We got to see a lot of whales right from our spot at the pool. We rented the Bali bed At the pool, which gave us our own waiter and our own special place to sit every day. They provided a cooler with beverages and ice along with snacks. What a fun experience.
