Beautiful room at the Sheraton
We visited Waikiki with a large friend group in mid February. The group all stayed at the Outrigger but we wanted to use some Marriott points so we chose the Sheraton Waikiki. The main reason for this review is to compliment Sonny at the front desk. He was phenomenal in his search for an upgraded room for us as part of our Platinum perks. He was super friendly and kept looking until he found us a great room! Thank you Sonny! Service with a smile is the best. Our room was gorgeous with an oceanfront view. That made our stay so special. The resort is huge. Many shops, however the restaurant choices are few. Only one main restaurant (Rumfire) which we didn’t try. A pool bar and a breakfast place at the top of the hotel. We did eat here one morning. Big disappointment. Super standard Buffett. Huge crowds. A line actually to get in. Service was that of a cafeteria. I recommend walking to the Royal Hawaiian next door for the beautiful breakfast there. Or the many other restaurants close by. The Sheraton is in a good location. Walkable to the Royal Hawaiian, Outrigger and other hotels along the beach. Use the beach to walk to these hotels. Very fast. From the front entrance you are close to many many shops and restaurants. We did not use the pool but there are two and they looked pretty nice although crowded at certain times. The hotel sits very close to the beach but no room on their beach for chairs. You have to walk towards the hotels to the left of the property. (Facing ocean) The room upgrade is what made our stay it was truly gorgeous. Comfortable beds, nice bedding, good housekeeping as well. Congrats on hiring employees such as Sonny at the front desk. Because if him We would return.

Great employees make the customer experience
Great experience, Great pool, great coffee shop, great rental car service desk (avis) and totally super resort experience enhancement by Sonny Max Rodriguez. Sonny really knows the island and is super cool and was very helpful. Also took great care of my family on their reserved waterfront cabanas all week. We really appreciated all of Sonny’s island advice and guidance that enhanced our overall vacation experience. Good hiring kudos to Sheraton!

Best of Waikiki
Hands down my favorite hotel in Waikiki. Pricier option but totally worth it in my opinion. This hotel is right in the heart of Waikiki so you are walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shopping. The property is well maintained and clean. If you can, get the high floor ocean front rooms. The views of the ocean and Diamond Head are great. The property itself is right on the beach with an adult only infinity pool that is situated just far enough from the family and kids pools. You can reserve loungers in the adult pool all day for a small fee. My wife and I would take turns at the adult pool while the other was with the kids in the family pool. BALANCE. If you want to make it a beach day, they have convenient access to the beach and a shower/rinse station to come back on property. Very lively property with additional activities for adults and kids throughout the day/week. They do have RumFire downstairs which can be loud if your kids turn in early. But they do stop the music at not an unreasonable hour. Check in was always a breeze and the staff always pleasant to deal with.

Ill mannered pool attendant
We loved this hotel , but I rented a chair by the pool , I was told my husband and I could not both sit on it , I said we probably wouldn’t , just needed somewhere to put our towels and shoes etc. Today we were told to have a few drinks to keep warm as I asked if the pool had heat! The pool warden is terrible !

Jingsi on the 11th floor deserves a raise
I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge our housekeeper Jingsi and how lovely she was. When we stay at hotels we immediately place the do not disturb card on our door and don't usually take it down unless we absolutely need our room tended to or our linens replaced. We will call or stop down at the front desk if we need more coffee or something replenished, but otherwise we keep to ourselves and keep our room clean. We have been doing this for years and it is just what works best for us. We really appreciated that Jingsi made a point to nicely stop us and offer to do a quick refresh of our room when she saw us in the hall throughout our stay. We always declined but she was never pushy and always respected our time and space, but we liked that she made sure we knew she was available if we needed anything at all. A couple days into our stay we still had our sign up but she made a point to put fresh towels, washcloths, and hand towels in a bag and hung it on our door for us to take into our room upon our arrival back. Something she definitely didn't need to do, but was absolutely appreciated. She was truly wonderful!
