Try the Spa at the Sheraton Bougainvillea. You won't regret it!
My husband and I enjoyed a twelve night stay at the Sheraton Bougainvillea in Puerto Vallarta. A highlight for each of us, were the fifty minute massages in the onsite spa. The spa staff was accommodating, and scheduling was easy. A huge call out to Edith and Ramona! They are true professionals and their massages were just what we needed after golf and long walks on thr Malecon. We left relaxed and happy!

Above and Beyond Expectations
January 2026 My stay at this Sheraton from Jan. 17-27th '26 was my 2nd stay there, my first being about 8 years ago. I loved the hotel's proximity to town, it's pool, people and very important to me, it's food. This time, each night when I approached a restaurant for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised to hear them ask if I had any food allergies. I replies yes to MSG (Monosodium Glutamate). The first night, I went to the Seafood Restaurant. I was told that MSG is a sub ingredient to a lot of their dishes, so I was restricted to ordering fish only. I had the Mahi Mahi, which was fine. The 2nd night, I went Italian. Again, asked if I had allergies, and again told that MSG was a sub ingredient to the tomato sauce they used. So I couldn't order Pizza, Spaghetti, most pastas or Lasagna. Only fish!! So I (frustratingly), ordered tuna. The next morning, I went to reserve my table for dinner that evening. The concierge, Edgar, asked if everything was okay. I expressed my concern that after only two days in, I was severely limited in my menu choices because MSG was in so much of their foods now (this was never a problem during my previous trip). I was sick of fish after eating it 2 days straight! Only the "dress code" restaurant, Gaviotas, had a completely MSG Free menu where I could order whatever I wanted. Edgar asked me to: "Please give us a chance to make it right" Edgar was always so kind and helpful, so I obliged him. Dinner that night at the Gaviotas restaurant, was excellent (capped by an awesome sunset view during dinner). The next morning during my breakfast, the restaurant manager (who I had never met), Israel, approached my table. We spoke about my concerns over the MSG content in the foods. He asks me to wait a few minutes, and calls in Rubin, the Executive Food Director of the hotel and introduces me to him. We talk for 5-10 minutes. He asks my food likes and preferences and he touches on the fact they do whatever they can to adopt to their clients needs, as an example, such as those that have Celiac disease. He then calls the executive chef over and introduces me to him. We discussed my dinner plans for the evening. It was an awesome dinner that he brought to my table personally! They arranged that henceforth when I go to these restaurants, to notify the manger who will ensure a special meal is prepared for me (off the menu) and made fresh with no MSG! I was very amazed and very grateful for their concern to ensure I was taken care of and happy. It was exceptional customer service that went above and beyond what I would have expected. From then on, I felt like I was treated like royalty. All the greeters at the restaurants new me and greeted me by name as I approached them and the executive chef was bringing my meals to the table! It was a very memorable experience. So if you have concerns with food at a resort, for whatever reason, try this one and simply just talk to them. I think you may end up being surprised at how much they will do to ensure you have a good experience. They will do whatever is in their power to help make your stay pleasurable and memorable. Thanks again to Edgar (Concierge), Israel (Restaurant Manager), Rubin (Executive Food Director) and all the fantastic chefs and staff that helped make my stay a memorable one.

Wont be back.
This hotel seems nice. However they checked me in on the wrong side. I was supposed to be on in the building just south of this location which is called Buganvilla, Different style and address. The hotel we got placed in had a million children and whatever the entertainment was on the day we were there was obnoxious. The DJ was playing the same songs over and over while someone was yelling into a mic. My husband said it felt like Mexican Chucky Cheese. Also the shower water in the rooms was all over the place in temperature. Would not return or recommend this place.

First time at Buganvillas
We spent a week here and this is an honest review. We have been coming to PV for 19 years staying at various RCI properties. As usual, we were put in a sub standard room because good rooms are saves for owners. After begging, offering to pay, we were told that the only way to upgrade from our view of the street and gross public beach, was to attend the timeshare presentation the next morning. We did and still had to fight for the upgrade. We were finally moved to room 2352 and it was really nice with a balcony and full ocean view. We ate at the resort quite a bit because we got sick eating in town the second night. Again, the first time in 19 years. The food was fine, nothing to have about. The front desk staff was not the nicest but the servers in the beach and at the pools were great! Shout out to Mariano, he was amazing 🤩 The least favorite part for us was the beach. Extremely rocky!! Not good for swimming or walking. Major bummer. We bought water shoes and walked down to Los Tulles beach and swam there. We probably won’t be coming back as there are so many other resorts with nice beaches and rooms.

Amazing hotel with even more amazing staff!
We just returned from our second stay at the Sheraton Buganvilias resort and we were thrilled with our experience. The scenery and hotel are beautiful, but what really sets this resort apart from the others is the exceptional staff. From the moment we arrived, Ramon at the front desk was wonderful and so kind. To our amazing concierge, Edgar, who greeted us every day with the most sincere smile, a true customer service expert in every way. The hotel is lucky to have him. The hospitality extends to our excellent breakfast server, Orlando, who made us feel so welcome. His attentiveness was extraordinary. A special shout out to Liliana and Juan at the pool, these two made my birthday such a special memory. Thank you! I would also like to extend my gratitude to Jesus at Gaviotas who provided us with the most amazing birthday dinner. His attention to detail and service was above and beyond. Lastly, Rodrigo at the lobby bar....your cocktails were wonderful! Thank you for a week of sun, smiles and unforgettable memories. We hope to see you all next year.
