DO NOT STAY AT THIS LOCATION. WE GOT ROBBED IN THIS HOTEL BY HOTEL STAFF. WE DID A REPORT AND EVERYTHING AND THEY HAD NO EXPLANATION, NO CAMERA FOOTAGE, NO RECORDS OF WHO CAME IN AND OUT OF THE ROOM WITH KEY WHICH THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE, but oh it didn't work. What a coincidence we spoke to two hotel managers and they had no explanation for us. There names are Jose Cordova and Oscar Gomez and we have proof we were robbed. Our taxi driver overheard out conversation as he was dropping us off at the airport and told us that it was happening frequently at THIS hotel.

The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Manuel at the front desk and Eduardo Castaneda on the grounds go out of their way to greet you with a smile, make you feel at home and do everything to make your stay comfortable. We are currently on an Air Transat seven day trip from Canada. The resort is spotlessly clean, the food excellent, and the staff cheerful and friendly. The room on floor 19 is large and well appointed. Kept spotless by the maid, who cleaned every morning. The best restaurant is Gaviotas which had service and food equivalent to any speciality restaurant on a cruise ship. The other restaurants were fine but we were slightly put off by the additional charges on most items, for all inclusive guests, in the surf and turf restaurant. Puzzlingly this did not apply to other restaurants apart from a couple of items in Gaviotas. There is lots of outside eating space which we enjoyed. The buffet is excellent and there is even a raptor employed to keep the birds away from the food there. Sadly the young man did an excellent job but, on other occasions, the young woman handling the bird was more interested in being on her phone than using the raptor for its intended purpose. The birds are a nuisance, carry disease on their poop and need to be kept away. There is a bus stop outside the resort and for 11 pesos you can get downtown. It’s a long walk in the heat. Puerto Vallarta is lovely and well worth exploring downtown. The entertainment at the resort is minimal. The karaoke is too loud and intrusive around the resorts in the evenings. We enjoyed the Fiesta and the brunch but the Marichi band was great there but far too loud at the brunch. Drinks are good quality alcoholic and there is a latte machine in the buffet so no need to use Starbucks at an enormous cost We will definitely come back and hope management listen to my constructive criticism so next visit I can give 5stars.
