A great resort that is made amazing by the staff!
My wife and I just returned from this resort two weeks ago (our fourth visit in five years). Just as it has been during all of our previous visit, the resort was clean and the staff is exceptionally welcoming. The staff and the food (mainly the staff) are the reasons we continue to visit this resort. We didn’t get the room that we wanted or loved but the experience was still great. We were in the preferred building with an ocean view room on the fourth floor. The views weren’t the greatest of the bay or the sunsets but we still loved our stay. The service and food were excellent. Our “welcome home” is always so heartwarming when we arrive. We had a wonderful bellman assist us with our luggage and deliver it directly to our room for us. This type of introduction and service is great! Our UVC check in was really easy and quick. We were escorted to the UVC office and checked in by Miriam and she then took us to our room. We asked to be moved to the main non-preferred building from the preferred building for better views but they weren’t able to accommodate our request. Additionally, our UVC representative Gio is amazing. We love Gio! He was off when we arrived but came to find us several times throughout the week when we were on the beach just to chat and check on us. He is wonderful! During our stay, we loved the buffet for breakfast and lunch and Tamarindo, and Capers for dinner. We went to the Capers wine cellar again, as we go there every trip at least one time and had one of our most favorite meals. It was a 7-course meal and was phenomenal. The service from Franscisco was beyond belief. He was busy with several tables the evening we had dinner but he still made us feel special. He has a wonderful personality and is great at what he does. Knowing he was busy we told him he didn’t need to do the “Mexican coffee” fire show. He seems bummed but told us to come back. We saw him around the pool later in our visit and he made us a reservation to come to eat at the Capers restaurant early that evening so he would wait on us. He did a private after dinner show at our table when he made us “Mexican coffee” with flaming tequila. It was awesome and so unexpected. He went above and beyond what was expected and made our evening wonderful. We had another great dinner at Tamarindo and as expected the service was exceptional. We were waited on by Roberto and Cesara. They were great and we didn’t want for anything. They made wonderful recommendations and made our evening exceptional. We also loved our experience in the Market Café. The food was always good but the service was exceptional. Our waiters were Sergio, Antonio, and Maria every morning. Sergio and Antonio are two that we have become close to from our past trips and greeted us like long time friends when we first arrived. They are super special and made us feel like family. Sergio has an amazing personality, seemed so happy, and takes pride in his work! He took time to chat with us and made us a special cappuccino every morning (which he remembered from our last trip without us even mentioning it). It was such a nice touch and honestly Sergio is a big part of why we came back!. Even though Antonio was not our waiter he came to great us every time we came for breakfast and lunch. The final morning, Sergio and Maria took great care of us; came to our table with a plate of dessert with “have a nice trip” written on it. Another amazing touch that warmed our hearts! We said our goodbyes with tears in our eyes because we care for these folks so much. Sergio and Antonio especially have become like family. Maria has also become someone we look forward to seeing during our trips. She is so sweet. The waves were high during our stay and there were a few beach events that required set up so we didn’t get to spend as much time as we would normally have. We in turn sat around the pool more than we normally would. The new pool deck is amazing! We received great drink service from Alejandro! He had such a great personality and made our day fun. Every time he came around he made sure we didn’t need anything else and joked around with us. He was so fun. We also cannot go without mentioning the service we received in the preferred bar from Jose Maria. The bar is a great little area to grab a drink before dinner and a snack when needed, but Jose Maria was awesome. We sat and had a few drinks at the table in front of the bar before dinner one evening and he was exceptional. He came out from behind the bar and refilled our drinks before we were even finished. Every time we came through the bar area he would great us and a few days later we came through before dinner and he had already begun to make our drinks before we even asked. It was awesome!! Orlando in the ice cream shop, is so great and has such an infectious smile! We planned to go every evening but were so full we only made it two or three times. The ice cream was great but Orlando’s personality lights up the room! We also had amazing service from our concierge Jose Becerra. He was always coming around and asking us if we needed anything. He was in constant communication with us and took care of every need we had. He was a great assistance to us and a pleasure to be around! This resort is full of so many amazing people that we have grown so close to. We have also become very close to Arelli, the manager of the bar and server crew. She has an amazing personality and is such a wonderful person. She is also one of the team that we look forward to seeing during our visits!! We love this resort for the amazing people, the great food and views. We also travel there during whale watching season for that wonderful experience.

This was a return visit with UVC member friends who had not been previously and it was a great experience overall.
We joined UVC back in late 2015 and have visited many resorts since that time. Secrets Vallarta Bay stands out as a favourite due to the friendly and efficient staff, how well the overall facility is kept and above average food quality for an all inclusive resort.

Secrets Vallarta Bay - Excelente!!
We had an amazing, relaxing stay at Secrets Puerto Vallarta Bay! The hotel, UV team, and restaurant staff were all incredibly welcoming and attentive—every detail was taken care of. Highly recommend both Secrets Puerto Vallarta Bay and Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort & Spa for couples and families looking for a stress-free getaway. Plus, Puerto Vallarta felt safe and easy to travel to. Can’t wait to go back! 🌴✨ Hola hola!!! 👒

Would Recommend to Anyone
Went in large group to celebrate a milestone birthday. I would definitely come back. I have been to resorts in other large tourist destinations in Mexico, and this resort stands out. Facilities are well cared for, and staff morale was noticeably high. (even through February 2026 cartel interruptions.) Food and beverage options were abundant and easy to access. Cannot recommend spa with hydrotherapy enough - worth the spend.
