Don’t go! Not worth it! Much better choices out there for the amount of money spent here!

My room was nice. Others in my group had difficulty! The food is awful! Breakfast was always served warm never hot! Limited food choice at pool! They couldn’t even get the nachos right! Staff friendly and helpful!

Preferred club, good hotel if your not picky about food.

Stayed in preferred junior suite panoramic view with two balconies, feb 2026. Room was not in same area as our friends with preferred club rooms. room amenities were good. OLder hotel with a great beach, private dock for excursion pick ups. snorkeling off beach, plenty of tour help, convenient for scooter and jeep day rentals for exploring. Employees were helpful, friendly, professional. Atmosphere was low key, some daily activity, beach volleyball, pool aerobics, no after dinner entertainment or night life at hotel. no Mexican dancing, music, ( darn), no theme parties, did have the most amazing superbowl beach watch party. Buffet, not good. Specialty restaurants good, hour wait time, inside seating with men wearing pants. drinks and pool bar where good. Cooler nights and high wind make for cold water. Funny that there not always enough chairs on beach or at pool to sit, though most save chairs are not occupied. employees try to keep up with this and will remove items after two hours if not occupied. Spa was amazing and well worth a visit. biggest gym with good equipment and space Plenty of drinks, top shelf with preferred. great hotel , if you don’t want after dinner activities, or need great food. If you’re going to relax , get some sun, snorkel, drink, explore it’s a great hotel. Definitely get preferred club suits.

Secrets Auta in Cozumel don't waste your money

Aura in Cozumel the resort should not be in the secrets collection the pictures and actual resort are definitely not the same the staff were mostly good the restaurants were terrible with the exception of the barefoot bar which had the best food at the property the rooms were terrible we stayed in two separate rooms and both look like they was a 1 star hotel room in the states we payed extra for preferred and that was an extra waste of money they had exposed electrical wiring in the pool the only thing that made the trip ok was having our friends with us I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone unless it is completely remodeled. The phones did not work in the room so you could not even get room service not to mention the sewer smell in both the rooms we had during our stay.

Feels Like a 1990s Days Inn Trying Desperately to be a Resort

After staying at Secrets and other locations, this was a total and utter disappointment. This facility is in desperate need of updates, and at the very least a total cleaning from top to bottom. The rooms smelled musty, and there were lots of places that had black gooey stuff or stains that wouldn’t come up. Speaking of rooms, the housekeeping was spotty, and I often didn’t have towels after the room was cleaned. The rooms were in bad need of updating as there were no modern amenities like enough outlets or modern connections. The room was really large, which was OK, but the TV was only 20 inches and it was hard to see across the room. The food options were very limited, and the restaurants were small. Because of their size, there were long waits for food. And trust me when I say the wait was not worth it as the food was average at best but most often just plain bad. Many of my entrées or other selections were served cold and because we had waited so long, I didn’t even want to send them back to have them heated. Rather, I just ate them so we could move on. There should be more variety. The breakfast buffet at the market was terrible. The staff seemed unbothered and only begrudgingly would do something if we asked, so we stopped asking. There was a little to no security the entire time we were there. We came back from town one night around 11 PM and there was no one at the front gate so we just got out of the taxi and walked around. No one stopped us. I shudder to imagine what would’ve happened if we had not been staying there and had been people with ill intent. If you are used to an all-inclusive, I would skip this one by. It does not live up to the Secrets or Hyatt brands, And this facility pales in comparison to the many other resorts I've stayed at over the years. Luckily, I was with friends and family, and we were able to make the most of it, laugh at the craziness of it all, have a good time despite the accommodations.

    Please read this before booking

I have to start out by saying this is the first time I ever stayed at an all inclusive resort, so my comments on the shortcomings of this resort may be the norm. That said, I hope not The layout of my room was nice, but the furniture was definitely pretty beat up. The resort itself was set up nicely. The staff was a mixed bag. The waiters and waitresses were generally very nice, although some were absolutely inattentive. When one person at the table asks for a drink of water, you would expect that the waiter would offer water to everyone, and not just bring over a single glass, but that happened more often than not. The bartenders were generally curt and dismissive, which is exactly the opposite I would expect from someone looking for a tip. It was not just me. At least twice I was standing at the bar near a guest who was treated rudely by a bartender. The hosts/hostesses at the restaurants also left a little to be desired. There were several people in our group, which seemed to be more than they were used to. Only once were they able to give us a relatively accurate wait time. Most of them told us that they had no idea how long we would need to wait to get a table. Probably the worst was the night we went to Gohan. We were told that the wait would be about 1 hour. We sat outside and had a couple of drinks. It was a very cool and breezy night, to the point that it was uncomfortable to sit outside. After an hour we went to check and were told that it would be at least another 45 minutes. Then, the hostess told us that we were not allowed to wait in the foyer and had to go back outside. Needless to say, we left. As for the food, it was hit or miss. Bordeaux was very good. We ate at all of the other restaurants, and some over at the sister resort, Dreams. By and large, the food was nothing special and the portions were exceptionally small. The small portions were not a big deal, because you could order as many as you wanted. The worst of the food was the buffet. It looked as unappetizing as it was. The desserts were by and large a complete disappointment, across the board. They looked delicious, but most of them lacked any flavor, whatsoever. We paid extra to be preferred guests, which was a complete waste of money. Only certain bars give you the option of top shelf liquor. If they run out of a particular brand, the bartenders have no idea when they will get it in. The preferred seating on the beach was an even bigger joke. Those seats were long gone before sunup. One day we got them when the weather was not particularly good. two couples near us were loudly bragging to one amother. One couple was talking about how they were not preferred but were sitting in the preferred seats. The other couple told them that they weren't even from our resort. When we asked about this at the preferred desk, we were told that they don't actually check to make sure that only preferred guests are in the preferred areas. The entertainment was generally okay, but definitely not great. I am open to trying another all-inclusive, just not this one.
