Great location , not so great service
I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times and I’ve been disappointed for the last few stays. First, the positive. Great location, close to many things you will want access to, Union square, cable car, etc. Warning #1…the lower floors are VERY noisy. The street noise it bad. I always request a high floor but for the last few stays, you’d think I was asking for the presidential suite. Warning #2… the front desk attendants have no desire to help. They simply spit out the same lines over and over again… the computers fault… we are full… sold out can’t accommodate that request… and so on. Warning #3…. The restaurant closes early and there is no room service. It a big deal unless you are looking for a meal after a long flight.

Great Location.
Located near Union Square. Close to Cable Car line and other public transportation. Friendly staff and normal Marriott room. Pricey restaurant and bar but many dinner options near by. Easy walk to Chinatown. Also close to many shops that surround Union Square

Great stay and would stay again
The entire stay was excellent. We were able to check in early. We also requested a late checkout although we ended up leaving before 11 AM. The room was clean and well furnished. I thought it could use one more garbage bin based on the size of the room. Although I was not happy about the destination charge, it was palatable with the food and beverage credit as well as the reusable water bottles. One gripe was valet parking. For the cost of over $70 per night, valet should have brought the vehicle to the front of the hotel, as opposed to my family and I having to walk around to the parking garage. The next is a minor thing but the dessert options at Bin 480 in the evening were disappointing. On the other hand, the morning breakfast buffet at $30 per adults and $13 per child was on point. We would stay here again. The location was good. I’m sure people who are in shape could probably have walked further than we did. However, we were not used to the hilly terrain and with small kids, we ended up using Uber to get to places that would have taken 30 minutes by foot.

Wonderful Experience!
We had a junior suite for 2 nights while in San Fransisco and it was very roomy and nice. The bed was so comfortable. Everything was extremely clean in the room and throughout the hotel. The shower was great, never had to wait for hot water, loved the showerhead, lots of water pressure. The staff was wonderful from check in through check out and everything in between. The breakfast had 2 options, full buffet breakfast or the continental buffet breakfast for $30 or $20. The fruit was very fresh, as was everything else, they had lots of options and if you got the full buffet, they had hot food too with made to order omelets. Great location for walking downtown, we were able to walk or take the trolley to many places around town like Fisherman's Wharf, shopping and lots of nice restaurants.
