Nice Stay
I've stayed here a few times and it is really nice. I love the beds and room set up. The only issue I encountered this trip was candy under my bed, but the staff gave food credit that I could do use in the restaurant. So, it doesn't really bother me. The gym is well equipped and there are water bottle refill stations all over the place. At night you'll need to be careful of the homeless population that is everywhere! But there is a lot to do in the area.

Be prepared to spend $ for mediocre stay.
$103 to valet your car. Absurd! This place seems more fit for conferences. Lots of homeless and drugs in this area. Very dirty. Plus everything is expensive as hell. No pool and they charge you a $30 destination charge and offer you a $30 credit for food and beverage. I drink at The View lounge is $24, so a couple has to spend $60 to get that credit. FYI, Ubers have a $35 minimum charge here.

Decent Hotel if in town on Business
I had stayed at this hotel several years ago (more than a decade), and I was curious to see what it is like now so I stayed here on a recent trip to San Francisco (it was also one of the better deals in the city the week before “DreamForce”). I used my suite night upgrades and got a hospitality suite which I didn’t need, but it was nice to have the extra space so my friends and I could use the room to socialize. While the room was large and had a great view, it was no frills. We also visited the lounge, which had a decent quality food spread, but alcohol (wine and beer) is not free. Not to mention, the wine, which comes out of these dispenser machines tasted weird so the lounge staff very kindly did not charge us. The lounge also has “business” only hours and is not open on the weekends except for breakfast, which seems to be the norm post-pandemic. I do like the bar on the 39th floor which has amazing views and decent service, and while obviously overpriced is worth a visit. Overall, this hotel is a good place to stay if you’re in the city on business, but I would not go back for leisure or a special occasion. It’s a huge a hotel that is very busy and the lobby feels like an airport in the morning. Stay if you can get your employer to pay for it.

Just say NO
When I checked in, personal information was written down to contact me when my room was ready and lost. Management didn’t care. When I got to my room, it had not been cleaned properly. Short hairs were in the toilet, in the toilet and floor of the bathroom, small pieces of toilet paper or Kleenex were all over the floor, water bottle cap under the tv and when I stripped the sheets the mattress cover was dirty. Complained to front desk, left for dinner came back they said it was clean; but it wasn’t. So housekeeping manager brought a team to clean it. 9:30 pn they were finally gone. I overhear the cleaning team talking about how bad the room was. Day 2 Found a hair in my $22 hummus (yes everything is expensive).. gross…. They locked the doors for the outdoor terrace on floor 5. Said it was only for private functions….. but there was no sign indicating that. So if you want f real air, step outside and hope someone doesn’t drop their pants and pee on the sidewalk in front of you (this happened outside the front door) Bed was nice and comfortable. I will continue to stay at Marriotts, but won’t go back to this one.

Weekend Getaway
We stayed here over the weekend to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. This is the second time we have stayed here. The room was nice and spacious and the hotel is located along Mission & 4th Streets, very close to Powell Street BART, Moscone Center, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and SF MoMA. Target & Trader Joe’s are also in close proximity. They have an extremely large fitness center! Things to remember: - There is a mandatory daily $30 destination fee which can be used for food/beverage credit - MUST be used daily or you will forfeit it - For Bonvoy Elite Members: On Friday & Saturday, The M Club Lounge is only open for breakfast (6:30 to 9 AM) Bummer! - Bring your water bottle because NO water bottles are served in the hotel; however, water refill stations and ice machines are located at designated floors - The View Lounge at the 39th Floor gets really crowded, so come early to secure a good spot.
