Great Hotel, Great Location and Great Staff
This hotel was a true 5-star experience and really enhanced our recent visit to San Francisco. The rooms we were given were great, with the hotel ensuring that we had the ability to make them adjoining if we needed to. There was an excellent variety of food and drink locations on site, with the View Lounge on the 39th Floor being a real gem. The hotel also offered a resort package for Bonvoy Members (food/drink credit, free Tram tickets, etc.) which meant that we could actually see real value from the resort fee charged I cannot wait to return to San Francisco and will definitely make sure I stay at the Marriott Marquis when I do!!

Loved this hotel
Central location. Mix up with our booking at reception and I was quite upset. Lady that dealt with us was exceptional and sorted everything out. My son got engaged during our stay and the staff were really helpful obtaining 2 champagne glasses for their room. The security men and the men who dealt with baggage hold were so helpful with directions and friendly. Hotel reception looked wonderful as it was decorated with Christmas decorations. Wouldn’t recommend the bar on the ground floor. Limited drinks for ladies and overpriced. Waitress not very happy or helpful. The place that sold food to take away in the hotel was fabulous too with happy and great staff. Please note that you will be charged $25 per night per room on top of your room rate. Overall loved the hotel and will definitely return.

Skip this hotel
Too hectic, slow check-in, mobile check-in was non existent. Online room ordering was not on til 5pm. Rooms feel like a 3 star hotel. The color palette in rooms is just dreary and what “modern” was 10 years ago. Mattress was sinking so bad on left side of the bed like quicksand. There are a lot of options in SF, choose a newer hotel. This place is rundown and in desperate need of an update. Now with Pros: access to BART, shopping and no wait on elevators.

Good location and great customer service and....
got upgraded to a nice room (since I have Elite status). Room was nice and had nice views of the city including the bay and Salesforce building. The hotel had security both inside and outside. It was safe and it was close to the subway station which is convenient throughout the city. I had some vouchers to have some free food. This was a very wonderful exprience and will come back again if I am in downtown SF.

Nice central location
Stayed three nights. 36 floors (1,500 room skyscraper), 780 Mission Street in the middle of the tourist area about 15 blocks to the bay (fisherman Warf). Giving this establishment (room 1793) a 4.4 hinge rating (Tom’s scale of 0-5). GREAT breakfast Went up to The View on the 39th floor and observed a great view of the city’s lights. It was rather crowded, so we opted to not stay for a cocktail, which we found out later was VERY pricey.
