Disappointing Experience – No Luggage Storage and Poor Management Response We recently stayed at the Marriott Hotel at 1250 Columbus Avenue in San Francisco and were very disappointed to find out there is no luggage storage service available once you check out. This crucial detail is not mentioned anywhere on their website. Had we known this in advance, we would have chosen a different hotel. When we brought up the issue, the Director of Operations, Mesui Paley, offered no solution whatsoever. His only suggestion was to go across the street and pay $5 per bag to store our luggage — something we found extremely unfair and unacceptable from a hotel of this category and price point. This lack of basic service and poor customer care is not what we expect from Marriott. We truly hope the hotel updates their website to reflect this and considers the inconvenience caused to guests who are left without options after checkout.

Almost perfect
For us, this was a 4.75 star hotel. FYI, we’re Platinum. Even before we got there, good things happened. As we left the plane, we got a text that our room was ready early. When we arrived, we got free full breakfast buffet coupons, Ghirardelli chocolates, collapsible mugs and a couple thousand points. The room was fine and a great location. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. But the reason it’s 4.75 and not 5 was the internet access. It was difficult to join and we had a few hiccups. But overall, it was a winner!

Terrible Experience
What a terrible experience! We paid for valet parking for our car and when car was requested, wrong car was delivered. Took over 30 mins to actually find my car ? Room was not serviced during our stay, had to go to reception to request more toilet paper and also we asked for sugar for our coffee, but they had none ! Lifts constantly out of order and incorrect signage placed on lifts was confusing. Will not return. Very poor effort for a Marriott

Typical Marriott Hospitality Perfectly Located.
Great location near the Embarkadaro and 10 minutes from downtown, China Town, Larkin etc. in a quiet neighborhood---almost hidden away. The Marriott at Fisherman's Warf is a perfect spot to prep for a cruise, or do multi touristy San Francisco Bay area/Alcatraz, Pier 39 visits. Rooms are recently upgraded and comfortable. We had minor hiccups with the television being (accidently) disconnected from its cable box (fixed quickly and efficiently by house keeping); and the glasses for the ice bucket were dirty (again fixed quickly and efficiently). Beds are comfortable. Couch is modern and not particularly comfortable. All the necessary wi-fi/electrical outlets are plentiful. The walk in shower is superb. Marriott charges a daily required"resort fee" for which you get access to the gym, bicycles and/or kyaks??? and a credit vs food/bar at their restaurant. It's an annoying add on. The room rates are typical of that area of San Francisco. Food at the hotel restaurant for breakfast is ok but extremely expensive. We did not visit the restaurant or bar for dinner. There are a few wallkable alternatives but nothing special. The breakfast buffet is substantial but at $37 a tad steep. Service is excellent all around. For convenience, Marriott quality, and buttoned down staff the Marriott at Fisherman's Warf is a good alternative.

Marriott on the wharf
Great place by the wharf and very close all activities and food .room was very nice, clean and spacious we had am 210 and has a balcony with 2 chairs and a table great for a drink on the patio. Prices are reasonable for the location. They have valet parking for $65. Friendly folks at the desk and always with a smile . I would consider this place to stay if you want to be where the action is . Very close to the street car rides and crooked street on Lombard. Great to drive down
