2 star amenities at a 4 star price
Have stayed here every April for 10 years or more for a conference. The hotel is 48 years old and really shows its age. Service has gone from excellent to abyssmal. Despite premium status we keep getting charged for internet and keep getting a runaround when asking to have it removed. +++ A show rate reasonable for SF with $5 distant self park. Quiet room Very comfortable bed fast elevators - - - Closed restaurant. Only bar food. (the neighborhood alternatives are few) Lobby mens room closed for cleaning when I need it. No room service or maid service summary - 2 1/2 stars. Predict it will rebadged soon.

Acceptable for a short stay !
We stayed for one night prior to our cruise from Port of SF. Overall a stay fit for purpose. In and out without any service ! No Bellman help with baggage particularly after travelling more than 10+ hours flight and have to carry luggage by yourself. Our room smelt a little un fresh and did not look very clean in particular floor carpet. M Club Lounge was very strange, Self service, Coffee Machine out of order for 2 days during our stay and no repair had been done ! Breakfast offering was ok (we paid for Starbucks Breakfast), evening snacks very disappointing. Lack of choice and lack of quality. Unwelcoming staff and atmosphere. Very wierd.

Marriott really needs to improve this property !
Guest rooms need improvement/renovation M-Lounge quality is worth than any economy hotel, staff very unfriendly, all together very uninviting experience. Room cleanliness not acceptable (sticky bathroom floor) Sen at the front desk was the only helpful and friendly employee. We can not recommend the hotel as is.

Take Off
After Landing in San Francisco its only minutes away from the very runway you just came from. Don't expect any bells or whistles with this property Purely a get them in get them out kinda place. From crews, delay passengers and budget conscious The hotel, rooms, public areas and facilities are old and rundown and in desperate need of a refresh. To save cost rooms was not service unless requested, even when requested our rooms was not cleaned for 3 days. Lobby bar was less than impressive with basic items like an ice bucket for bottle wines was not available. Overall a disappointing stay for a Marriott hotel.

Not overly impressed
I've stayed at this hotel previously, but typically stay at the Hyatt near by. I hadn't been here for a number of years, and decided to try it again. The hotel is convenient to the airport and has access to a very nice, paved, walking trail footsteps from the front door. The airport shuttle runs frequently. I would say the lobby and my room appeared very clean. There was windy and rainy weather when I arrived. I noticed a sulfer-type smell in the lobby and on my floor that evening - possibly caused by the unusual wind direction across the water. I did not notice the same smell the next two days, thankfully. Every time I stay here, I am always given a room facing the water and a distance farther way than I like from the elevators. I was surprised to be given a room on the opposite side and near the elevators. I thought a bit nicer to finally not be so far away - until I went into my room to find the view was a leveled block with bulldozers actively working across the street. Given my expensive room rate and mid-level program status - I found this odd. I had good luck with the bluetooth room key and it saved me waiting in line to check-in. I also find it very interesting the hotel check-in time has moved from 3pm to 4pm and checkout is 11am. I was here two days and my room was not serviced during the stay. I think Marriott does the bed/bedding well. The comforter was not too hot. They also do better (name brand) bathroom amenities than some of the other hotel brands - this location with the large shower dispenser bottles to prevent plastic waste. The shower head is an EXTREME water saving version - to the point that I thought it might be easier to stand out in the rain to get the soap off of me. My HVAC was a bit noisy with some clunking when it cycled. There is also an automatic switch in the bathroom that turns a night light on when the overhead lights are off. I would see it pulsating in the night - I don't think it was working properly. The window shade (see picture) was frayed and wouldn't go all the way down - I think it had been coming apart and was trimmed. That meant I had to use the curtains - when I preferred to sometimes have some light coming in. Lastly - very shameful to charge $7 for a bottle of water. C'mon! I think more people would buy it if it was such a complete rip-off. Even Hyatt gives my status free bottles of water.
