First Caribbean Visit at RWI
We booked this trip in Nov 22 and finally arrived 10 May 23. The hotel is excellent! Our room was a 1 bedroom suite located directly above the Pelican Bay restaurant. The room is basically a condo with kitchen, bedroom and living room. It was very clean, nice and bed was comfortable. The beach was beautiful and great access from the property. Free towels, chairs and umbrellas were always available. The restaurant was good for the most part. We had to send our burgers back since they were rare, they came back and still not fully cooked. Outside of that, the meals were pretty good. Reviews about the front staff are consistent. The lady that helped us was nice but the other young ladies tend to sit there with an unwelcoming look on their face. I don’t think it’s intentional, but do think management needs to focus on front desk hospitality training. The cleaning staff, bell hops, maintenance crews were wonderful. Very nice people and did a very good job keeping the property clean and maintained. You can tell they cared about their jobs. The landscaping was very nice. The nightlife at the restaurant was very enjoyable. Just seeing everybody sitting outside at night, and music playing, it was real enjoyable to sit from the balcony and watch everyone. This area is expensive including the restaurant. Our first lunch was $60 and we didn’t order anything extravagant. You can walk down the street from the property and choose other restaurants along the way at other properties, but prices still high. We went to Turks Kebab and had 2 kebab plates, 2 small desserts and a margarita for $90. There is a 12% tax added to almost everything. There is a grocery store, “Grace Gourmet” located about half a mile from the property and all items are American. We went there and bought bagels, Gatorade, lays chips and dips, frozen pizza., etc to keep in the room. That helped us from eating out too often. Beware the taxi drivers as they have no meter running and tell you what they think the cost should be. We were charged $12 one way to the grocery store. We ended up walking the next time (15 min). All in all, it was a great trip and RWI was a great hotel. We would definitely recommend and return in the future.

Paradise on Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos Islands
Our stay at the Royal West Indies Resort on Grace Bay in Providenciales, T&CI, was absolutely perfect. The 3-story property was stunning with lush, tropical gardens everywhere; so many gorgeous flowers. The 2 swimming pools and the hot tub were quiet and relaxing, especially after a day at the beach or on the water. The food at the restaurant was excellent, offering a wide variety including several local dishes. The bar was so much fun; many friendly people and bartenders. The drinks, of course, were amazing. The beach at Grace Bay was incredible; the turquoise water was so inviting. There were many lounge chairs reserved for our resort, perfect to sit and watch the sunset each evening. Our unit was a first-floor studio with a comfortable queen bed, sofa, desk, dresser, TV, top/bottom washer/dryer, kitchenette, and spacious bathroom with a large bathtub. The sliding glass doors opened up to a patio with table and chairs and we could walk right out to one of the pools and hot tub. The other pool was located at the bar / restaurant; very convenient to get a drink and float. We enjoyed our stay there and definitely would prefer staying there over the other larger resorts.

Perfect laid back Caribbean resort
This was my first time visiting T&C with my husband and we booked our stay at Royal West Indies without doing too much research. As such, we weren’t sure what to expect, but the resort turned out to be a wonderful surprise. It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. The tropical gardens are lush and it seemed like everything was in bloom. The gardens surround the two pool areas and provided the most relaxing setting for a swim after the beach. The little restaurant had a great lunch and a fantastic happy hour. I read that it was one of the first resorts on Grace Bay, but everything was so well maintained and cared for, it didn’t feel that way. Our suite was comfortable and clean and the housekeeping staff was excellent. The front desk was helpful and we were walking distance to a couple of great restaurants. Grace Bay, of course, is beautiful. We had a wonderful time laying on the beach and never had a problem finding an empty lounge chair and umbrella. All in all, our stay offered the perfect relaxed and laid back Caribbean vibe, and we hope to return soon!

BEAUTIFUL beach and water!!! Super friendly staff!!!
We absolutely loved Grace Bay! We brought our two boys, ages 9 and 11. We were very welcomed at the Royal West Indies hotel. It was extremely clean, friendly, not crowded, beautiful beach with chairs and umbrellas. We were happy that we booked a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen because the food on the island is pretty pricey. To eat at the restaurant on site (Pelican Bay) for two adults and two kids was $147.00 (But it was really good!). The grocery store was about a five minute drive and we were able to cook in the room. Two boys eat A LOT so this saved us a ton of money! My kids also enjoyed using the kayaks and goggles to snorkel right on the beach (free use). We saw many tropical fish and stingrays! I highly recommend taking the Island Vibes snorkeling excursion to the reef and to one of the smaller islands nearby. We did the half day and had a GREAT time! While on the excursion, we saw a ton of fish, shark (they call him Bruce), and a dolphin (JoJo) that swam in the water with us for over 20 minutes!!!!! It was amazing!!! We also did parasailing and tubing (you can book with them on the beach at any time). One thing that I really wanted to do was the glass bottom kayak tour (many people that we ran in to did it and said it was great but the day we had planned to go, we couldn't because of low tide). Originally, we were looking at staying at the Beaches Resort. While it did look nice, our condo resort was less than half the price on the same stretch of beautiful beach! Highly recommend doing the same thing! While I'm sure it has its perks, I'd much rather spend my money doing excursions. = ) We had a GREAT time and look forward to going back soon!!!
