Nightmare and lack of service, they treated me and my family horribly.
I have been planning my destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta. I have brought the hotel 80 paying customers as they are all my loving friends and family, all to enjoy in celebrating my nuptials. The day before the wedding the hotel staff told me they won’t allow for my photographer, hair and makeup staff to come on-site to take photos or to help me and the wedding party with our hair and makeup !? We also have transportation to shuttle everyone to wedding site and they also won’t allow for the shuttle to go into loading zone to pick up my friends and family. I have elderly guests and also young children. How far out do they want us to get picked up. Let’s do the math: $150 per person per day for four days is $48,000 + tax and resort fees!!! Yet, they are so unaccommodating. I know I could have brought my friends and family elsewhere. I regret allowing for them to pull the rug from underneath me the day before my wedding. They have ruined my entire experience. This should speak volumes. I hope this doesn’t happen to you.

Terrible
An elevator was out much of our trip. People who cannot climb stairs or who have disabilities should NOT stay here. My son’s shoes were soaked on a sponsored excursion — there was nowhere to dry them and no one was helpful. The food is subpar compared to Cancun. And the “helpers” are not at all helpful. I asked for help from a manager and “no one” was on duty. We are still here and I cannot wait to leave.

First time visitor happy to rebook
Very pleased with the welcoming front desk staff. We were first timers to PV and first time at the Riu Vallarta . We were accommodated with our friends being moved closer to our room. Alma at front desk in particular was lovely . The room was very clean and spacious . Our room safe gave us a problem and we called front desk and an appointment booked promptly with specific time and a call to confirm with the name of the staff person just before coming to the room. We requested extra towels and housekeeping were very obliging. The 4 pools each offered a great amount of loungers and we would try to sit somewhere different each day . Pool bar service was adequate and the lineups at the bars went fast . Buffet was good and once I learned the lay of the land even better . Breakfast fav was omelet station. Lunch was was good selection and Dinner option with the restaurants and buffet offered good variety. Steak house was my favorite . Omar at the evening Buffet was awesome and fun and very attentive . A smile and politeness by guests goes a long way . Activities staff so very fun and energetic and talented. Violet at fitness was great and Abi was hilarious!!Sport bar was a good little spot . Premium alcohol and snacks in the fridge there too. We were very well taken care of and the staff were always very hard at work . Great first Mexico trip for my partner and we will return

2023 Riu Vallarta
This is not my first time at the Riu Vallarta. From the time we got to the hotel to the time we left everything was amazing nothing to complain about. The staff were so polite and always making sure you were ok with drinks, food always making sure that everything was cleaned. Entertainment was also great loved the foam party by the pool and the White party was also wonderful.

Great holiday at RIU Vallarta - very impressed
We only came for a week and while it’s a long flight of 11.5 hrs with a busy airport to get through it’s been worth it. Big resort with 4 pools and one is a swim up bar. Entertainment all day if you want it or quieter areas if you’re not bothered. We did foam party, used the swim up bar for pre-lunch drinks and enjoyed the American Rock Band on Sunday afternoon in the pool! Buffet restaurant is so good with lots of choice and quality fish and meat - all different every night and lunch. There is an Italian, steakhouse and an Asian - no restrictions - you get a buzzer to come back when your table is ready so very relaxed. Lots of bars inside and out and we met some great people. The Neon Party with painted faces was great fun and the bus to take us down the road - all very organised. Staff are friendly, the whole resort is very clean and our room was huge. No complaints we have absolutely loved everything about it. Good mix of families and couples and groups of friends. Would defo Italy come back.
