May 20, 2025Worst hotel i have ever stayed in
Where to even start, food quality was poor, never stayed somewhere just shocking options/quality, nicest play to eat was the pool side grill. Maids were loud and inconsiderate from 7am! If they are starting that early, please consider that people are on holiday and would like to rest! Understandable we went in hurricane season and we were there when a hurricane hit however there was NO communication/reassurance about the protocol other than no alcohol to be served 24 hours before (even so you have optics in your room?!) there was basically no food available when we went to the buffet the night before the hurricane and nothing was being replaced, we were left 2 additional bottles of water which we did appreciate however to be woke by them cutting trees at 6am after no sleep was not very nice. Understandable there was some bad weather during the time we were in Mexico however there are no where near enough areas that are covered for the amount of people in the hotel, in an evening if it was raining there was no where to go other than the lobby and sports bar which was not enough space meaning we would have to eat and go back to our room. We also experienced people coming into our hotel who were not staying there and then drugging young girls in the pool. We witnessed this happen to 4 girls before anything was done, this did not make us feel safe at all!

Fabulous hotel. Well kept. Food and drinks great. Beautiful beach a short walk or jump on the golf buggy if you don’t feel like the walk in the heat. Big shout out to Andrea at the Sports Bar. She is an amazing bar tender and a credit to the hotel. Hope to return one day.

The rooms were super clean. The staff is always great in Mexico and this place was no different. The pool bar at this RIU was better than the ones at the other Rius that are around. Bamboo was our favourite a la carte. Buffet is always a great option, especially the breakfast. The Neon party is pretty much a Coco Bongo experience on the resort. If you do want to go to Coco Bongo, don’t buy tickets at the Coco Bongo stand by the pool bar. They charged us $86 US each. You can probably get them much cheaper is playa del Carmen.

Everything was fantastic! Except the transfer service. The transfer was completely inflexible, terrible communication and even left members of our party stranded at the airport.
