Apr 19, 2026Fantastic Food and Shows, Poor Sleep and Service
While our room was spacious and aesthetically pleasing, our experience was a mix of highs and lows. The biggest drawback was the bed; it lacked proper support, leading to several poor nights of sleep. Additionally, we noticed significant hygiene issues—there were flies in the buffet food and bird droppings throughout the common areas. Most concerningly, the hotel tap water contained visible black particles, which was quite off-putting. On the positive side, the food was consistently delicious, and the no-reservation policy for restaurants was incredibly convenient. The entertainment was a standout feature; the nightly shows were high-quality, and the kids' parties were well-organized and a big hit with our family. Service, however, was a struggle. It was often incredibly slow or nonexistent, and it felt as though attentive service was reserved only for those providing large tips. Despite these flaws, we feel the resort offers decent value for the price and we would consider a return visit.

Pretty solid with some caveats...
I didn't know that there were very loud parties there every single day until into he night. Maybe thats my bad for not seeing it somewhere but it was a huge surprise upon arrival. I didn't have an issue personally, but let it be known it is loud and it is all day. I know the other RIU resorts are quieter and more intimate (now). The food was OK for a buffet. The Mexican dishes were the best (obviously). the seated restaurants are OK as well, noting spectacular. I did LOVE that all the food was marked with all the allergens as I am mindful of what I eat and have sensitivities. The staff were all amazing, not one complaint there. I think bang for your buck this place is great. If you have the money to upgrade somewhere else, you might be happier, but if this is your target budget, you can't go wrong. We had a 3 year old with us and there was plenty to keep him happy and busy. The beds are hard and the pillows are pretty bad. Rooms are average, not jaw dropping, but not ugly or dirty. Housekeeping does a great job. Bring lots of cash to tip lots of people. they deserve it!

Amazing!
We had a wonderful stay at Riu Santa Fe in Cabo! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going out of their way to make our experience special. The rooms were immaculately clean and very comfortable. There were so many dining options to choose from—while the food wasn’t extraordinary, there was always something delicious to enjoy. The property itself is beautifully maintained, with lush, well-manicured grounds. The pools were a highlight—perfectly heated and ideal for relaxing or having fun. Overall, it’s a fantastic resort for a fun, easy, and enjoyable getaway.

The entertainment team is the best
We stayed here for spring break, and while we originally booked for the water slides, our family ended up spending most of our time with the incredible entertainment team! From daily ping-pong tournaments and water volleyball to stage shows and blackjack, they kept us constantly engaged. A special shout-out to Leo, Alexander, and Moses—you and the rest of the team are awesome and made our trip truly memorable. The food selection and quality are great for the price, though cleanliness in the dining areas could be improved as birds and flies were frequently around the food. Night noise from other guests was a bit of an issue, but we were so active during the day that we usually slept right through it. The transportation coordinator was also incredibly helpful, and the location is perfect—less than a 10-minute Uber to downtown attractions.
