Below average but priced well.
Our experience was very mixed. Let's highlight the good first. Resort is very clean and well maintained. Service was excellent with the exception of maintaining water and drinks in the mini fridge. Location is probably the best part of the resort. Short walk to the beach, fantastic pool overlooking the beach and Cabo bay, and the ability to swim in the ocean which is very uncommon in the Cabo area. The bad.... The food was terrible. There were many nights we went to multiple restaurants to eat enough to fill up because most entrees were terrible. The best meal items were fries, burgers, and macNcheese. Not the meals you look for when traveling to a foriegn country. Although there was always entertainment in the evenings, it was generally in a single location. Aside from the sports bar, there is not another place to have a drink or do something. We were surprised to find many of the building lacked elevators. Meaning you had to haul your luggage up and down as many as 4 floors.

Great resort
My only complaints are the walking from our building to everything, the sleeping arrangements - we were 3 adults and were in a room with 2 double beds pushed together and the wifi was extremely spotty. I would go back for sure but stay in a different building.

Love
I enjoyed the RIU Santa Fe for my bday. If convenient location to Walmart was a lifesaver because I needed hair products. All in all the staff was wonderful. A few of the restaurants weren’t open during my stay. I wanted to eat a El Toronte. I think that the name and it wasn’t opened. By the third day food options (kinds of food) got repetitive. It was a great all inclusive choice for the price.

Very Nice Resort but Lousy Food and Drink
This was our third Riu Resort and our 25th all inclusive resort. Traveling with a group of 6. It was definitely the most attractive with lots of trees and western landscaping. Well maintained resort. The resort has been updated in the last couple of years so the rooms, furnishings, and bathrooms are in excellent condition. It is very large and spread out so be prepared to walk a lot. As in previous Riu’s the staff are all very helpful, polite and appreciative. We did not attend any of the shows so no comments in regard to entertainment. As stated previously, this is our third Riu and the worst for caliber and taste of the drinks and the food. I would have thought that both food and drink would be consistent from one Riu to another but that is not the case. All I can say was the food was tasteless and many times cold. We ate at all but 2 of the specialty restaurants. The only consistency was the beef was tough and not edible. The beef was cooked as requested but no one in our group was able to eat it because it was so tough. The Mexican restaurant was our least favorite with the food being cold when it arrived at our table. In talking with folks at the pool, we weren’t the only ones who experienced cold food. We really did not understand the poor taste of the drinks. I watched the pours and they were generous but the mix was tasteless. We ordered Pina Colada’s, Margarita’s, Daquiris, Mojito’s, - lots of different types of drinks in hopes of getting one that had some flavor – nothing seemed to work. I will say that the best drink I had was a dirty martini at the Bravo bar. The bartender knew how to make it and it tasted wonderful. Our group decided the key was to order plain highballs rather than anything that required a mix. The only other complaint we had was the lack of an adult/quiet pool. We expect noise and loud around the swim up bars – there are a number of those. The pool staff starts in with loud music by 10am and by 11am the games start. One morning we asked that they turn it down and instead, they turned it up. The kids are everywhere screaming and throwing balls. We understand that is what kids do which is why other resorts have quiet pools. With 10 pools at the hotel, it would be nice if one was dedicated for quiet and relaxing without kids. One other oddity was no moisturizer in the bath supplies. With airlines restrictions, we depend on the resorts to include moisturizer along with shampoo and soap. Fortunately there is a gift shop on site that we could purchase a 4oz. container of moisturizer for $10 US. It was a gorgeous resort with incredible views but the poor quality of the food and drinks and the lack of an adult pool will not have us returning.
