Honest from the heart
I’m going to be very honest and add a few names of people who do the most: I stayed at RIU reggae for just under 2 weeks. The rooms are super clean and the cleaners keep the hotel looking fantastic. Every staff member does there bit to help keep it clean. Location wise the hotel is minutes away from the airport which is ideal. The drivers that take you from the airport to the hotel are so warm and friendly. The atmosphere at the hotel is on point. You do get a lot of sales men on the beach trying to sell you everything known to man and that can be annoying, however they are only trying to make a buck. During breakfast and lunch we had a sever called Terri Ann and if I could give this woman a medal I would, she’s absolutely amazing. Felisha who works on the pool bar has such a friendly smile and is amazing at her job. Please give these ladies all the love if you are ever luck enough to be served by them. Marlene and Winston who work the bar in the evening make me want to sit and enjoy having a wind down and watch the entertainment show. They skills and warmth and love of there job made us want to return to this hotel. Vickesha who is a chef has the warmest heart, again cannot fault this woman by far, always went out of the way to make sure the guests have what they want when they want it. Shanea who is on the front desk of the buffet area in the evening is again another staff member who not only should be promoted she’s just impeccable at her job. These are just a few of the staff that stood out for me, I want to say on behalf of my partner and me thank you for making me want to return, without you all I would not be planning a return. RIU please do thank your staff and praise them for all they do. Thank you RIU staff. X

Major Safety Concerns
My husband and I travelled to Jamaica for the first time. Our stay was deeply disappointing and, at times, felt unsafe. At approximately 8:30 in the morning, a member of the entertainment team entered our room despite a “do not disturb” sign clearly displayed on the door. We were startled to have someone walk in uninvited. Security later advised that the staff member had intended to enter a different room, but that explanation does not address the larger concern - why do entertainment staff have access to guest rooms at all? This raises serious safety issues, especially for guests travelling alone or in groups of women. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated concern. Throughout our stay, staff were consistently dismissive, even though we tipped regularly for drinks and meals. Basic hospitality and professionalism were lacking. There also appeared to be little to no enforcement of safety or conduct in public areas. During dinner at the buffet, an extremely intoxicated individual was allowed to continue disruptive and unsanitary behaviour - eating with his hands, laying his head in his plate, dry heaving and spitting on the floor - without intervention from staff. The environment overall felt poorly managed, I never once saw a manager during our stay. There is a designated smoking area for cigarettes, however, you could smoke weed wherever you wanted. Not to mention the constant offering of drugs from the guys on the canoes in the ocean. Cocaine, weed, whatever you wanted, which was alarming. The guys on the canoe were aggressive with the guests. Additionally, a member of the entertainment team, “Bubbles” displayed unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour. Guests were pressured and even bullied into participating in pool activities, with bartenders being told not to serve those who declined. She also referred to guests using inappropriate labels such as “white guy” and “Goldilocks” which was uncomfortable and unacceptable. Overall this experience raised serious concerns about guest safety, staff training, and management oversight, we would strongly caution others - particularly women travelling together - to carefully consider these issues before booking.

Another great vacation at a RIU
We have stayed at several other RIU’s (Mexico and DR) and this one holds true to the RIU brand. The RIU entertainment team is excellent. They keep the grounds very clean. The room was immaculate. The maid cleaned daily and made towel sculptures almost every day. We had an oceanfront jr suite and it was as pictured. The food (buffet) gave a wide variety to choose from. We went to the steakhouse as well and it was very good. We found one cat buddy that made our vacation as well as many other guests. Super sweet! Long and short of it is…..some people like cats and some don’t. This kitty definitely knew the people to go to. I am sure these cats do a service for the resort (mousing / rodent control). I would like to see the RIU management team do them a service of a food station, clean water (not drinking from the pool that is filled with chemicals) and vet service. This little specific kitty had labored breathing problem as well as not being able to swallow normal chunks of food. So……if you are there please see the pics below of this guy and break up some tuna steaks, ham, and chicken into VERY small bites for him so he can get them down and digest instead of vomiting them back up. He ate good for our full week. All in all, we will definitely be back and would love to see our kitty friend in a little better condition. Thank you RIU team for another great vacation. We can always count on your brand!

5* everything
Lovely hotel with 5* everything, all the staff, food, entertainment etc. All the staff were brilliant but want to mention a few, Evron in the Steak Restaurant on site, Rihanna, Bubbles, Brandon and Omar from the entertainment team, Winston the barman, the TUI Reps Ailiyah and Karen always on hand when needed. Had such a great time we're coming back in June!!
