Fabulous !
The room, food, staff, and activities were awesome! This is a well maintained establishment. No wonder they have so many repeat guests.

Excellent
Beautiful hotel and Beach, very clean, delicious food, really nice people, no complaints, 100% recommended.

Nice, clean but smoking resort.
First of all it's supposed to be a resort with specific designated smoking area, and it wasn't. People smoked everywhere on the resort without anybody from the staff enforcing the rule. It's the second time at the resort, last time was 10 yrs ago, the resort rooms were updated since then and are comfortable.

What a wonderful hotel!
This was our fourth stay at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya, and it never disappoints! Terrific staff, great food and an incredibly hospitable environment! Already looking forward to returning!

Never again!
I am not sure why people rave about this hotel but, it is really outdated, mediocre food and if you ask the front desk for anything the answer will always be NO! In addition, 80% of people working at the hotel don't speak English, so it's really hard to communicate with them. If you are planning to come with your children, please note that their kids club is very poorly run with very boring activities and almost non existent. But the shocker is the towel cards! Who has towel cards now a days?? I was stuck in a rain storm with my child and asked two RIU staff for a towel please so I can take my freezing toddler into the hotel, you know the answer, "NO"! No towel card, we can't help! Are you crazy? My child was shaking and I was just trying to get her into the hotel without getting her wet. I told them I would bring the towel right back..."NO"! What a shame. If you are planning to enjoy the beach quietly, think again, there will be a vendor coming by every 5 minutes selling something. Never ending offerings to buy something. I was really hoping to like this hotel. Definitely would not recommend it.
