Our third Riu experience. Riu properties are attractively designed, meticulouly clean, well trained staff, food prep and restaurants are very good. Elite Club experience is worth it - especially beach front access. Evening entertainment is okay (not great). Nice gym and spa. We are.making plans for a fourth Riu trip.

Amazing Stay at RIU Palace Macao – Can’t Wait to Return
We had a fantastic stay at the RIU Palace Macao and would happily return. I’ll start with the only real downside so it’s out of the way: our room had a noticeable damp/mold smell on arrival. This seemed to be caused by the air conditioning being switched off by housekeeping, which let the humidity settle. There was a small patch of mold on one wall, but once we made sure the air con stayed on during the day, the smell disappeared. Aside from that, the room was clean, spacious, and well equipped. We did have to get our key card reset a few times, though we never figured out why. The main buffet was excellent. Themed nights kept things interesting, and the variety and quality of food were consistently impressive. The open cooking stations were a great touch. It could be tricky to find a table during peak times, but the staff worked hard to help and were always attentive with drinks. The coffee shop was a bonus too with a choice of coffee along with sandwiches, pastries, smoothies and cakes. We also enjoyed all the à la carte restaurants. Waiting times were minimal, and most nights we walked straight in. The Asian restaurant was our favourite by far—so much so that we struggled to get a second reservation, so it’s worth booking ahead. Entertainment was a real highlight. The shows were brilliant, and the entertainment team—Edoury, Oni, Emboise, Elizeha, Willy, Urne, Sammy, and DJ Pedro—were outstanding. They put in so much energy and made every evening fun. The hotel’s beachfront location is perfect, with a small selection of shops just a short walk to the right. The RIU Party pool is a great bonus if you’re looking for something livelier during the day. Overall, despite the minor room issue, we had an amazing stay and are already looking forward to returning.

A beautiful hotel with a fabulous beach. Food in buffet and service amazing. Very disappointed with menu choice and service in à la carte restaurants. Cappuccino excellent ( could be bigger ) Adonis brilliant waiter , professional and friendly. Bar Cubano excellent, Danny amazing. Entertainment average. Willy sun salutation and stretch class brilliant. Luis beach waiter really good. Shout out to waiters Dagoberto , Jorge and Anderson for great service. Would have been good to see more presence of managers . Also paper menus instead of QR codes. We had a fantastic holiday, thank you 🌞

great time !
1st time back to DR in over 10yrs (previous time was riu bambu & paradisus - big difference in food etc). We were not keen based on level of service & food last time but wow what an improvement ! Front desk staff very nice - gave us a "free" upgrade from back view to front view however when they say 2 beds they mean 2 double beds ,, be prepared when they say that. We were inbetween the theatre & swim up (4029) so loud from 4pm to 11pm. Housekeeping hit & miss. Highly suggest any of value in safe, other nice stuff hide as i am 85% sure room was gone thru a few times. Didnt tell front desk as i had valuables in safe. Turndown service most nights. Diverse mix of ages, leaning more towards 50+. Beach area very nice. Mid-beach area was our fave - inbetween beach & pools. Pools were busy but not crazy. Hard to find shade & it was hot everyday & night. Aquafit was awesome! w Coco & Willy. Restaurants were great - our fave was the Asian & steakhouse, with a close 3rd of the braised ribs at Krystal. Very much improved buffet from 10yrs ago. Service in general was 150% improved ,, our waiters in theatre/lobby area were fantastic! Elvin in particular. Ask to make drinks himself & he will :) Drinks - very strong - ask for pocito (sp?) booze as triples are hard to take the whole time ahahha & they dont know a lot of shots , so be prepared to educate & have them experiment. Pink & White parties ,, just go for an hr , enjoy the people watching , have a few shots (they have them there) ,, it was a fun time & nice that it isn't right at the hotel (7 min walk) We would go back :) gave 4 stars as the drinks were not like Mexico that's all
