Elite Club Pool Area - Don't Waste Your Money
Elite Club shortcomings are very simple, yet management can't seem to deal with. Between the guest that have not paid for the Elite Club and people from the two other resorts adjoining the Riu Palace Baja California that keep taking the Elite Club dedicated space, the lack of action gets old.... And what is the worst --- Elite Club Member space is extremely limited, just look that the photos. The first photo is of Elite Club Beds, please note how close the next row of chairs are...It's nuts. The two other photos are of the general pool area. Management is a joke. The guy named LEO refused to go down to the pool area so he really under the short comings of the Elite Club Pool area. Said he could not leave the front desk, that's crap. Instead, Leo calls Karla, who we have met before... she is pleasant enough and says she will look into things and make corrections BUT she is just a figure head with no authority to get ANYTHING CORRECTED. No one wants to take responsibility.

A all inclusive that met all my needs.
Over all it was a nice resort. Very much what you would expect from an all inclusive. The staff was all incredibly fantastic. Bartenders Antonio and Jesus were amazing! Food at the buffet was pretty good! The a la carts were all amazing although we did not try the Krystal. And you MUST have Pepe’s!!!! Chefs kiss! Perfect taco stand. Nobody was ill at all during our stay. The rooms were large and clean. It was spring break so it was incredibly busy but we always found it quieter at the Tropicana swim up bar. The over all vibe was fun and there was always something to do or see. The entertainment was good. And the famous Riu party’s next door at the Santa fe were so much fun! There is a pretty decent gym and lots of fitness programs which I loved. The price point was pretty good. Ordering room service on app made it easy. We loved our stay.

Expensive place operating like a low budget
Paid extra for elite class ie upgraded room. Had our spring jackets stolen from our room and riu is denying this happened saying we could have lost them anywhere although i know they were in my carryon bag in our room on Monday but not on Wednesday. The mixed drinks by the pool were about zero proof. I asked for a salad in one of the specialty restaurants (it was off menu but there was no fresh vegetables so I even asked if I could go get one from the buffet) and the waitress told me no I couldn't have one so then she took the rest of our table's order and when she got to my husband, who she was flirtatious with, he asked if he could have a salad and she said yes he could....but not the rest of us. Expensive place operating like a motel 6.

Nice quickie!
Booked this trip last minute to join a group of 37. We attempted to upgrade at check in and they were all sold out so we didn't get to experience the privilege side. I ate well here even though I am not a "foodie." My favorite restaurant was the Mexican one. We enjoyed the pool area with the swim up bar. The beach area was okay. There is small area off to the side for us to indulge in our cigars. There was not a party area at this hotel, but we had to walk through the neighboring Riu property that had the RIU party and nightclub. I loved the large courtyard over there, but the bar area was horrible. It was on the cooler side for Mexico but our views were outstanding. No one really stood out during my stay. The drinks were just ok. I really love RIU for a quick get away and this location was ok, but just ok!

Great stay
We spent 4days and it was such a relaxing time. The resort was very clean, the staff was exceptional and friendly. Upgrade to Elite, the rooms are spacious and a great view. The swim up bar got a little crazy but the staff handles it very well. You can get reservations at the restaurants with Elite level. We enjoyed the Italian and Mexican restaurants. We will come back. It’s a good price point and would be a great getaway with a group or couples only
