Fantastic Family Trip
The resort it self was amazing the staff you couldn’t ask for better. The location was a bit far from things. To get to town or excursion was at least 45 min - 3 hr or more drive. The cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding. Freddie the cart / pool drink guy should get a raise. He always went above & beyond. Always had a smile on his face. Totally made our day. Ady in the buffet was the sweetest server we’ve ever had at a resort. Great personality, always made us feel welcome. We always looked for her to make sure we got her section. Deserves a raise also.

Great Hotel!!!
All I can say is WOW! This hotel has everything you need for a great price! We were worried at first with some bad reviews but I think all those people are blind. This hotel is great for what yo pay for, it is not on the cheap end but it also Isn’t too expensive. We were here from 1/19 to 1/24 with our kids (4&2) Fair warning, the hotel is 1 hour from the airport, BUT the transportation services offered by Riu are great, the hour drive is worth it for this resort! Upon arrival, we were greeting by a friendly front desk staff, with drinks for us and popcorn for the kids! Our room was perfect and clean! Yes the couch was a little torn but who cares, you’re not there for the couch! The view was great! We had dinner the first night and it was exactly what we expected. There was food for everyone every night, you like pizza? There’s pizza. You like meat? There’s all kinds of meat every day. You like vegetables? There’s plenty veggie options. You like deserts? There’s plenty of deserts to choose from. Breakfast and lunch are also perfect! There is food for every type of picky eater! Shoutout to Salas who was our server for breakfast and lunch every day! The entertainment staff was incredible! Always funny and did whatever they could to make people laugh! During the night, they have kids activities on the main stage and our kids loved it! It was our sons birthday one night and we asked if they could get a cake and a candle and the staff did not hesitate! Truly take care of you at all times with any request! The beach has more than enough space and the servers on the beach are awesome! They take a lot of orders so yes it may take alittle, so if you are restless walk yourself to the bar near the pool. The pools are AWESOME!! Great activities in the main pool and a bartender around every pool! Have kids? Bring them to the kids water park, they will love it! Seriously activities for every age. I cannot say anything truly bad about this resort. The Riu brand goes above and beyond for their customers and we definitely will be returning!

Christmas break 2022
We had 2 weeks at Riu Dunamar over Christmas 2022. 4 adults, 4 children (12,10,4 and 2). Overall we had a lovely stay. There are plenty of positives and also a few negatives. Rooms. Rooms are big and spacious. We had 2 small doubles which suited us with 2 young children. However, if you were travelling with other adults or older children the beds were small. But the bathroom was also lovely and spacious. Unfortunately our balcony did not get any sunlight, so the swimwear was also a little damp. Minibar was restocked every other day. However, if you were in your room when the trolley came around they did not fill it up, which was strange. Bars & Restaurants Plenty of restaurants and plenty of food choice. There were always tables at the buffet with the food constantly being replenished and fresh. Lots of choice for everyone. However, there was no ability to book the ‘fancy’ restaurants. So you had to wait in a queue 30 mins before opening, or go a lot later in the evening. Luckily, we were walking past a few times and managed to get a table on less busy days. Bamboo was disappointing (all buffet so no different to the main buffet). The local cuisine was all table service (food was amazing). The Italian was half and half (food was lovely). The steakhouse was great too, but be prepared for a lengthy wait. Chips and burgers available pool side around 1pm, but again another queue. Sports bar always had food available, not the best but ok if you’re hungry. The buffet breakfast always had lots of choice of food and drinks. The pool drinks trolley was always stocked up and came round the pool all day. Remember to give them a tip, they work hard in the sun all day. Pools Plenty of pools to choose from. Be mindful that if you’re a Sun worshiper, the far pool gets the most sunshine at the end of the day. It is also the quietest and the one we preferred. Plenty of entertainment all day/ shows in the pool a few times a week. Water parks were great fun for the kids (and adults). No queues and lifeguards always attentive. Evening entertainment Was good generally, just too late. Mini disco started at 8.30pm which was too late for my young ones. However, the kareoke was good fun and everyone joined in. Toilets Lack of toilets in general. 2 sets of general toilets in main hotel at opposite ends and none centrally. Desperately needs more. Beach The beach was beautiful. We had to pay a tax on arrival to keep the beach clean and it was lovely. Plenty of sunbeds but be mindful of very limited shade. Quite a large shop on site selling pretty much everything. Inflatables are horrifically overpriced. Get some from Amazon before you go. Do not fly with TUI. Never again. Overall we had a lovely stay. I wouldn’t say it’s 5*, or rush back. But I would recommend it to someone.

Excellent resort
The rooms were very nice-roomy and very clean. Very large bathrooms with plenty of room. The food was excellent and the drinks were effective. Fun entertainment at night, and kids loved the pools and the water slides. Good and drinks were easily accessible and great quality.
