Amazing hotel, amazing beach
This place is wonderful. Very clean rooms, fantástic food and you don’t need to reserve on restaurants as others Hotels. The beach is the most beutiful that I have seen on Cancun and the hotel staff is always happy and helpping you in what ever you want. I was on the beach and Waiter was to offer me drinks even if I have not request (in another place you need to go to the bar for it). RIU Dunamar is amazing, i will come back
This place is amazing!!!
We had the best time at this hotel. The service is amazing (especially Adriana!!!) The food could be better (except for Kulinariam...that place is outstanding!). There is always something to do and the facility is so clean. Our room was immaculate! Everyday we came back to a freshly cleaned room with a different towel animal. It's the perfect place for a girls trip. They have adults only pools which we LOVED!!! There are people there to help you book the perfect excursion...I recommend Delphinus, Snorkel Tours, Rio Secreto, and Xplor Fuego! If you want the perfect vacation...you won't be disappointed here.
Excellent Place to stay. I highly recommend.
This was a wonderful hotel and facility. There was so much to do. The most enjoyable thing was the animation team. Attending Santi's classes was one of my favourite activities to do. They are such a hard working staff that works around the clock. Kudo's to the entire animation team. The entire staff was very friendly and professional everywhere you go. The night life is quite lively. The have white parties, and neon parties where the entire auditorium is dancing and the entertainment team is up on stage dancing. If you are interested in partying, you will enjoy this resort. The room was very nice and comfortable. Our view was absolutely gorgeous! Everything in the room looked quite new and reasonably new. The beach was the best part of the entire resort. The beach had a little bit of seaweed, but the team was on top of cleaning it right away. There were a few waves, so you had to swim with caution, but we really enjoyed it because we are both okay swimmers. The food is endless and excellent quality. But there were significant lines on all food stations. It wasn't that bad, but just keep that in mind. The gym is quite small and very busy so you are often waiting to use equipment. But still an okay facility for a short stay. They have most of the equipment you need to get by, but the dumbbells are mostly heavier. They don't have too many light weights. We did have an issue when we first checked in because they didn't have a room for us. They asked us to stay in Riu Latino (adults only) which was about 5 minutes away. Our friends were going to join us a few days later at Riu Dunamar so we needed to be back at this hotel. It was a bit of a hassle having to unpack and pack, check-in and check-out a couple of times during the trip. The front desk dealt with it so well, and was able to accommodate us in one of their best rooms after we went to Latino for a few days then came back to Dunamar. So their customer service in that regard was really great, but I wish we could have avoided the whole situation to begin with. I would definitely recommend you stay here.
It is a nice resort, the same 5-star quality as other RIU resorts we have stayed at in the past. The food was just like other 5-star resorts in Mexico. This resort is very fun for kids. It has a good water park for younger kids and an amazing water slide for older kids and adults. The water slide was definitely the highlight of this vacation.
Do not stay at the RIU resorts
We went in a large group. This vacation was a birthday present for my boyfriend and I was hoping we would enjoy our time there, but towards the end of it, we had a negative experience. Let me start by saying, the resort was beautiful. Well kept and the staff was constantly cleaning. Most of the service workers were very friendly and helpful. They cleaned our room daily, and there were always staff members on the grounds, we felt very safe on the property. The had entertainment every night from 9p-11p and have a 24 hours sports bar with to go sandwiches and pastries (you should plan to take these on any excursions). They have hard liquor, coffee maker with coffee and a fridge with stock of water, beer and soda for every room. The food was decent and they had different options on specific days. Wait staff was great. As soon as we sat at a table, they came over to take drink orders and ask of there was anything we needed. Towards the middle of our stay, one of my kid's cut his foot on the rocks at the beach. We took him to our room and cleaned off his foot with a towel. Afterwards, we immediately gave it to a housekeeper and told her it was blood. She replaced the towels for us and the next day, we got a note in our room, stating that we were going to be charged for the towel. When my boyfriend went to talk to the front desk about it, the manager Isabella, treated him like he was ridiculous for not wanting an additional charge for the towel. She stated if something spills, or if we need to clean anything up, we should just call housekeeping or use toilet paper to clean it up. She then stated that we could have the towel after we pay for it, if it means so much to us. Very condescending, ridiculous and insensitive. She didn't even ask if my son's foot was okay or if we needed any medical attention. We checked out and paid for the towel, asked for it and our family members were checking out with another front desk clerk. While we were waiting for the towel, the Front desk staff were speaking negatively about us in Spanish, not realizing the person that was checking out, was with us. Bottom line, I would have rated it a 1, but decided to rate it a 3, because of the rest of the staff. I booked the RIU, because of other family members who have stayed with them in other countries. The manager is horrible and because of this experience, I will never stay at a RIU again, nor will my family or friends. We spent alot of money on this vacation and to be treated so poorly by the management, reflects on your brand.
