Oct 22, 2026Very bad experience
One night stay after landing late evening and before moving to Venetian. Used points for the stay. Bad check in experience and dirty room ( see attached photo of shower wall).

Oct 22, 2026The Rio is always a great stay
I always enjoy the Rio when I am in Vegas for business. Our client also stayed at the Rio and we were both very pleased with our stay. The energy throughout the hotel was happy and attractive people were dressed beautiful and having a great time. Prices are perfect too. You can't go wrong when staying at The Rio.

Hotel lied about comped rate
Even though I booked the comped rate for 2 nights, they still charged me the room rate + resort fee for both nights. I understand charging the resort fee (even though I don't like it), but as I understand, the comped rate is supposed to make the room rate 0. Yet, they still charged me the room rate at $45 for both nights (again, plus the resort fee both nights). I even told the hotel clerk who checked me in that I booked the comped rate, and he explained the high charge by the deposit fee, but I ended up paying the room rate each night once I got the final charge on my credit card. Bunch of thieves in charge of Rio.

Oct 20, 2026Simply stated, it is not worth staying here overall and here is why.....
The Rio HAD a storied history in Las Vegas. This is definitely past tense. The 2026 version of the Rio, (even with its rebirth) just isn't worth the money. Expect very long check in lines. The property is not staffed for guest check in experience to be anything good. They hold a $100 incidental deposit, (up to $500) per stay, so be aware of that if you are staying here. The does offer free parking for guests, but you are a good 15-20 minute walk to the strip. The resort fee of $52.00 per night, ($60 with taxes per day) is an absolute joke as it gets you virtually nothing of value. The rooms are decent, but overpriced given the property experience. The thing I found that I liked best was dining at, "Tender Crush". You know when a food hall restaurant it the best thing you can say about a resort experience, you need to book elsewhere in the future.

Overall fine
Just stayed here for two nights and had a renovated room so it was very large and nice with pool. Was nervous to stay here based on reviews but overall we liked it. The staff at the front desk is lovely but the lines are always long like really long at all times. The free breakfast buffet for globalists is under whelming. I think it’s $25 a person if you are paying No variety of fruit, no English muffins, just overall blah but bacon and sausage was good. They have a waffle maker like a Hampton Inn. The hostess was not pleasant to anyone and wouldn’t seat anyone else as said staff was coming in at 8am we had to wait. It’s a buffet sorry I disagree let us get our food and another server can bring my drink it’s all the service you get anyhow. We liked the casino as way quieter than the main strip area. Staff at the Rio rewards desk was very nice. Sign up for the reward card you get a minimum of $10 free play. We did not use the pool as we came for the Buffalo Bills game solely but it was very big.
