expensive and cheap quality
I recently stayed at Pullman Hotel and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. For the price point, the quality felt far below expectations. The rooms are clearly outdated — the shower and overall bathroom setup feel old and in need of renovation. The bedding was also poor quality and uncomfortable, which is not what you expect from a hotel in this category. Service was another major letdown. Out of roughly 10 interactions entering and leaving the hotel, only once did a staff member make eye contact or acknowledge me. There was a clear lack of warmth, attentiveness, and basic hospitality. The restaurants were particularly frustrating — inflexible service and a general lack of customer care made dining an unpleasant experience. Overall, it feels like you’re paying premium prices for a product that simply doesn’t deliver. Significant improvements are needed in both service and facilities to justify the cost.

Not family-friendly and very outdated
I had a very disappointing experience at Pullman Brisbane King George Square. The hotel feels extremely outdated, especially the bathrooms. There is no proper shower setup—just a fixed overhead shower with no handheld option, which is very inconvenient, especially when traveling with children. Speaking of kids, this hotel is not family-friendly at all. The kids’ menu is very limited, with no chicken options available. When I asked if they could substitute fish with chicken, they said it was possible—but only if I paid full price for a separate chicken schnitzel from the main menu, plus additional charges for sides like chips. This made a simple kids’ meal ridiculously expensive (around $49 for chicken plus $17 for chips), which is unreasonable. To make matters worse, the staff were not accommodating or helpful when trying to find a solution. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, especially for families with children. It lacks basic comfort, flexibility, and customer service.

Do not stay here
Check-in experience was positive although not acknowledged as a Gold member. Was provided my 'amenity gift' of a chocolate. Wow. Had overpriced room service on first night and tray wasn't collected until I raised it with concierge the next morning. Seriously? Breakfast was ok but both salt and pepper shakers were empty. They were removed but not replaced. Seriously? Brisbane hotels are over and under deliver. Checkout was 'interesting' with both the night manager and training supervisor trying to decide who would check me out. Seriously weird and not professional at all. Stay elsewhere.

Brisbane Pullman on George staff member Rachel the best
I was on a business trip and checked in at the Pullman on George in Brisbane. I was met by Rachel who met us with a smile and then tendered to all my enquiries and needs in a most professional manner. She is an asset to the hotel and deserves recognition.
