Plaza la Reina Los Angeles - a motel which provides superb services
We had a very pleasant and extended stay at Plaza La Reina in Los Angeles, where we spent 18 nights while looking after our two sisters-in-law who were hospitalized as a result of a horrific car accident. The location was ideal for our needs—quiet, safe, and yet extremely convenient. Within a short walking distance, we found essential facilities like Trader Joe’s, Target, and a variety of restaurants, which made daily errands and meals effortless. One of the main reasons for our visit was to see our two sisters-in-law, and the hotel’s proximity to Ronald Reagan UCLA Hospital and the California Rehabilitation Institute was incredibly helpful. Being so close allowed us to visit them daily without long commutes, which made a meaningful difference during our stay. The service was another highlight. Receptionists Hina, Helen, and Nadia were consistently professional, attentive, and warm-hearted, always ready to assist with any request. Their kindness truly made us feel welcome. In addition, the janitorial staff did an excellent job keeping our room clean, tidy, and comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel is also conveniently located about 45 minutes from LAX, making travel easy. Overall, Plaza La Reina offers a perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and thoughtful service—we would gladly stay here again.

Best Hotel for UCLA Visitors
Plaza la Reina never disappoints. The rooms are spacious and livable, with excellent sized bathrooms. Having a kitchenette and laundry facilities are a huge bonus. Most importantly, the staff is top notch. Hina at the front desk does an amazing job keeping clients happy and helping with any small details. Ruben, the resident Handyman, is always smiling and can be counted on to handle even minor issues. Highly recommended this property. You will not be disappointed.

Nov 07, 2025MEZZANINE MEANS BASEMENT - yuck
This is my second time staying at this hotel. The first time was great. This time, I am in a room that is basically in the basement. It’s not even in the main hotel – you have to walk down the alley and around the back by the parking garage and garbage cans to enter a room that has all the pipes visible in the ceiling and a fluorescent light shining in from the parking area. It’s quite yucky - particularly for $330 a night!!! Be sure not to book a mezzanine room. I’m not sure exactly how they define mezzanine, which sounds da nice (this category is not even listed on their website with photos – I just checked), but this isn’t it.

Great accidental find
I found this hotel through an app because my usual go to was booked. And it turned out to be a stroke of luck. Excellent location close to everything I needed on foot. My room was upgraded and I had a really nice, large and well-equipped room for my stay. Very reasonably priced for the value. Definitely will look to stay here next time I’m in need of a hotel near UCLA. Parking costs were steep but that isn’t unexpected in this area, and the garage was convenient and had plenty of space.
