A nicely fully refurbished property
I was here from 21-26 May 2023. This property had just gotten a full refurbishment late 2022 so everything was new and clean. A very firm bed which is to my liking and the room was great. Several pools available and I like the 'Adult Pool' the most. Food was ok, more towards Caribbean cuisine most of the time so would be better if they have serve different cuisine on rotation. Clean, clear sandy beaches too. Staff are friendly as they do speak and check with you from time-to-time to ensure your stay was up to expectation. Overall was great experience.

Disappointed
Facilities 3: we stayed at the reserve ( adults only section and it comes with a concierge) and the room was ok: clean, looked recently renovated, cleaned daily Def not 5 stars as advertised Mini fridge was not working: we asked through our concierge to replace, took a day and they replaced with a fridge with marginally better performance (our waters stayed slightly cool during the entire stay) Service 4: staff helpful and friendly but they can not and should not be held accountable for poor management Rafael was helping us at the beach, had our chairs and towels ready every morning, and made sure we had drinks throughout our stay Our concierge Juan Castillo made sure we had dinner reservations every night and responded to all our requests Food 0-1: terrible! Not sure how they manage to screw up even simple dishes. Restaurants advertise seafood dishes but once you sit down, the waiters have to start by telling you that they ran out of every seafood option on the menu ( and this happened repeatedly at every restaurant); food was bland and inedible. The staff kept up with orders and service on days when the restaurants were not busy but as soon as the places fill up, kitchen staff were clearly not capable of keeping up (I waited 45 for my fish which came completely over cooked and dry) The worst part of this experience: On day 1, they tried to rope us into buying the membership for Melia. I turn the request down after booking reservations but upon arrival, our concierge pretty much begged us to show up for a presentation (apparently staff get penalized if they are not able to convince guests to at least show up for a presentation). we had to endure a very sketchy sales pitch. The management should instead focus on improving experience for the money guests are already required to pay without the membership and only then they may persuade guests to pay even more to become members!

Amazing experience
One of the best check in experiences ever being whisked into the Reserve private area. Greeted by my wonderful concierge taking care of my requirements during my stay. Superb pool areas and even better beach space. Special mention to Dalmis Rodriguez and Francisco Vilorio who went above and beyond in making my stay an unforgettable one. Will recommend to all my friends and family.

If you’re thinking of staying at this resort book the trip! Every hotel has pros/cons I’ve shared mine below.
We stayed 4nights/5days in the reserve jr. suite swim up. The reserve room gives access to adults only sections of the resort, pools and restaurants. We booked out flight and hotel separately. Despite other reviews we had no issues at check-in or booking on their website. Pros: Special Check in for reserve bookings, wine, snacks, etc. Peaceful and safe resort grounds were well staffed. Short walks throughout the grounds, beach/pools, stores, restaurants. Food/drink options all day, 24 hour room service, assigned Butler communicates via what’s app. Reserve swim up pools have their own bar service, pools were never crowded. No rushing to secure chairs by pool or holding your spot. Activities all day. Nightlife if you choose to participate. Cons: The hotel doesn’t offer airport transfers. Some walking paths were very dark when walking to diner. Poor directional signage for adults only sections/restaurants. So many hidden beautiful areas that would be easier to find if signage was in place. If you need to work at the resort the wifi signal is not strong. Staffs English wasn’t good. It was hard asking for directions or details on menu items. The just didn’t understand English. With the menus not detailed you didn’t know what was in the food. Mind you my husband has a seafood allergy and we don’t eat pork/beef. Ordered mash potatoes and they came with bacon on top. Menu didn’t state that. Also restaurants sold out of popular items on the menu. Our Butler was Star I wish he would have given us a better tour of resort during the walk through. He was great at setting up a special bath surprise and other minor requests. However he became quickly annoying when he kept pushing the timeshare meeting. Even begged us after my husband told him no. Our neighbors said he did the same as well. Spa is just a spa. I’ve stayed at other resorts that offer spa lounge pools, ice baths, special section to enjoy after the massage. They didn’t have this.
