Great resort, fantastic staff. horrible customer service at circle
My wife and I just returned from a six-day trip to Paradisus Palma Real, and we loved every moment of our vacation. We stayed in the Reserve adults-only section, which was terrific. Our concierge, Alam, was phenomenal and made our stay unforgettable. He ensured all our needs were met, from dinner reservations to transportation and beyond. The beach was amazing, and if you stay at the Reserve, you'll have the pleasure of meeting Pedro, the most fantastic, entertaining, and energizing individual you'll ever encounter. The food was excellent, from the buffet to the à la carte restaurants. Jose, one of the food and beverage directors, ensured everything was top-notch. The bars offered quality liquor, and the bartenders crafted great drinks. The restaurant staff was professional and helpful, and the Dominican à la carte restaurant is a must-visit. There were plenty of activities for everyone. We met many families with kids of all ages, and there was something for everyone to enjoy. The bellboy service and front desk staff were phenomenal, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. However, the one downside was the experience with the Circle check-in staff. They were pushy, unprofessional, and rude. As a Melia Silver customer about to become Gold, I expected better treatment. They should have recognized my status and the purpose of my visit. Aside from that, everything was amazing. I highly recommend this resort for singles, couples, and families alike.

Not what I was expecting
I was excited about my stay and even more so once I arrived and saw how beautiful the grounds were. The staff was great and our personal concierge was great. That's were the excited ended. Restaurants were not great. Not enough food options for someone with a restricted diet.

Great pools , beach and grounds
Deborah McLean Vacation | Couple We stayed for 10 days, in a swim up suite in the Reserve area. Room and patio was excellent, pools are large and well maintained.The grounds are really well maintained. The beach area is wonderful, water pretty calm . The staff here are so friendly and helpful. Our concierge, Emmanuel, went out of his way to look after us, we couldn't have asked for more. Other staff that were great, Vanessa, Gilberto, Marie at the beach bar Jose was helpful is many areas, got us into the steakhouse last minute, which we really appreciated Kelvin, Juan, Stirling and Rizzy, Santos, Milton, Barnelis Margaret, and Louise in Ginger bar There was an ongoing problem with dinner reservations, everyone we talked to had the same problem, you can only make 1 day at time , and it was really hard to get the one you wanted at the time you wanted. There is only 1 restaurant that is adult only and the adult only buffet was closed the entire time we were there, except for the last day, the food was disappointing the hot food was cold, lights turned off over the food areas, so hard to see what was there. Overall the food was mediocre. The Steak House and Mexican food was great , everywhere else so-so The Ginger bar near the lobby, is the only open air area, and had great entertainment, unfortunately the smell of cigarettes and cigar smoke is really strong, something needs to be done to circulate the air to keep it fresher. It's the only area for people to smoke, but not great for non smokers.

Perfection with Gustavo!
A dreamy spring break!! The resort is amazing!! Splurge for the Reserve…you wont regret it!! Ask for Gustavo! He will make sure everything is perfection! Gustavo made all our dinner reservations for the week, checked in with us daily and found us on the property to assure everything was to our satisfaction. He is the reason this getaway was unforgettable!

Restaurant Capacity Problem
The morning after we arrived, our family of 6 attempted to make dinner reservations at one of the restaurants on property. We were told that there are no reservations available for any of the restaurants during our time at the resort, but would be able to access the buffet (aka The Lunch Box). When we approached the front desk staff regarding this issue, they confirmed that no dinner reservations would be available to us during our stay, and then chuckled amongst each other. The concierge staff were sympathetic, but they were unable to do anything. While expectations for food an all inclusive is tempered, while staying at a 4/5-star resort we do enjoy getting dressed and enjoying a meal as a family in an air conditioned restaurant. The food at The Lunch Box is poor at best, so if you enjoy a good meal while on vacation this resort isn't for you.
