Jan 16, 2026Outrigger Reef Hotel: A highly stay-worthy experience
Outrigger reef hotel accommodation is one of my best hotel experiences. The room specifically is well-kept everyday and the house-keepers are very much trust-worthy. After my activities outside the hotel I arrive my room as if I have arrived the first time. Atmosphere around the hotel is very much conducive to enjoy Hawaii as a whole.

Our stay at the OUTRIGGER Reef Waikiki was a massive disappointment, defined by a total lack of leadership and basic hotel standards. First, the service is deceptive. We purchased for a show through the hotel concierge. Despite specifically asking about specials, the staff failed to mention a "Guest Exclusive" BOGO (Buy One Get One) offer starting the very next day. When I brought this to the Front Desk Supervisor they completely dodged responsibility, hiding behind inaccurate facts and showing zero interest in guest loyalty or basic accountability. If you stay here, do not trust the concierge to give you the best information they are either untrained and intentionally misleading. Beyond the poor service, the "resort" experience was non-existent: • The Pool: Absolutely freezing and unusable. • The Room: Our showers never got hot. We were paying premium rates for lukewarm-at-best water. For a resort in this price range, you expect hot water, a swimmable pool, and a management team that takes ownership of staff errors. We received none of the above. The leadership here is dismissive and the facilities are poorly maintained. Save your money and stay at one of the many other resorts nearby that actually value their guests.

Best home away from home!
Outrigger Reef was such a treat! Divina cared for our room and was so kind. The beach and pool were fun, the food at Monkeypod Kitchen delicious, and the whole staff - especially John at the valet - were exceptional!

Wonderful Experience
Location is ideal for beach access, shopping, and dining! Great sunrise and sunset opportunities. Two fantastic restaurants in the hotel! Everyone is so warm and friendly! Nelia our housekeeper, was especially kind and considerate. She made every effort to make us feel right at home!!

The Perfect Hawaiian Resort
We have had a fantastic stay here at the Outrigger Reef! The location is perfect. You’re on the beach and out of the busy part of Waikiki, but close enough for everything to be easily walkable. There is a beach and boardwalk next door, as well as a park that are great for walking or getting a run in. All of the staff is wonderful, especially our room host Divina! She was such a pleasure to talk with each morning, and always made sure we had everything we needed. It’s a very relaxing atmosphere, and everything you could need is available in the hotel. There is an ABC store, car rental, and excursion center. The on-site restaurant Monkeypod, is wonderful. The food and drinks are delicious and service is mostly great. Sofia was our favorite server! The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The beds are nice, and we really enjoyed spending time on the balcony. Overall our stay has been amazing. We would definitely choose to stay here again!!
