  Excellent

  Really enjoyed the location and very impressed with all staff. Lyn our room manager was a vreath of fresh air and very friendly.

  Wonderful stay

  The location was amazing. The beach was so close and the surrounding area was very peaceful. Wonderful coffee shop on the first floor. The entire place was extremely clean with a great pool.

  Mixed bag - shower is a deal breaker

  We chose this hotel after failing to find a condo with 2 separate beds that met our needs. There is a lot to like here: nice grounds, onsite restaurant (tho a couple of meals were sub par), the Hele On to go window which offered cheaper eggs than Maui brewing (though they were super bland), heated pool, beach access and nightly entertainment at Maui brewing. Partial ocean view is actually a really nice view of the water and beach. Everyone except the bellman was very nice and helpful. But, whoever remodeled the Signature rooms needs glasses. The bathroom sink and vanity take up a ton of space meanwhile the shower and toilet are in a space barely the size of a broom closet. If you sit on the toilet and lean forward your forehead almost touches the shower. And the shower stall is tiny. I’m thin yet banged my elbow twice trying to shower. And the carpet and fabric headboard are not the most hygenic choice they could have made. We also didn’t realize there is no elevator in our bldg. those 3 flights became a lot when we forgot items and had to run back to the room. They should make it clearer on their website that there is no elevator. They refused us a later checkout than noon despite that they were clearly not fully booked. And the bellman - omg. We took 3 bags to him and told him a 4th was in room. I told him it was hard for me to carry it down steps. I later get a call from reception asking if I forgot a bag in the room. I said no your bellman did. I assumed she’d tell him to get it. Nope. I was later told it was in lost and found with housekeeping! so I had to walk all the way there and lose valuable beach time waiting for my bag. Meanwhile the bellman was rude to my sister telling her “you can’t assume!” And said telling him the bag is in the room isn’t same as asking him to get it. Wtf!?! Ridiculous. Lastly I found it awful that resorts like this one refuse to hire someone to put FREE chairs/umbrellas out for guests like most resorts. They’d rather contract a co like aqualani and have them extort guests on their property ($85 for umbrella and chairs; $40 for umbrella). No wonder tourism is down here. Also interesting aqualina charges $10 less for umbrellas at Kapalua beach vs here. So the resort takes a cut of the profits for rentals and could care less that guests are being ripped off. Seriously why would anyone come here when most resorts in the world offer free chairs/umbrellas? It’s crazy. The beach isn’t that great to justify it. Maui isn’t that great to justify it. Overall we felt ripped off and taken advantage of throughout our stay off and on the resort. If it’s like this on other Hawaiian islands, no thanks.

  Our 50th Anniversary Celebration

  My husband and I came to this property in 1976 for our honeymoon then in 2016 for our 40th anniversary and now October 2026 to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We enjoyed our stay in an ocean front room. We enjoyed the activities of making lei’s and learning about the culture. We had a wonderful room attendant named Lorna who has been there many years. I did miss the Hawaiian shows they used to have before Outrigger took it over. I wish they had more Hawaiian entertainment especially at night was very quiet.

  Disappointing

  Disappointing Stay Despite Beautiful Grounds and Caring Staff The grounds were beautifully maintained, and our room was clean. The pool was below average, but the biggest disappointment was a two-day power outage (not hotel’s fault)that significantly affected our stay. During the outage, we had no air conditioning or hot water, yet the hotel did not proactively offer any adjustment to our bill. We had to ask. To the hotel’s credit, they tried to help by offering coffee and Danish in the lobby for breakfast and a cheeseburger for dinner. However, these gestures did little to make up for the inconvenience of going two days without basic amenities. The concierge service was also disappointing. It felt more like a sales desk than a true concierge, with dining and activity recommendations limited to companies with which the hotel had contracts. There was also an expectation of gratuity for services rendered. The highlight of our stay was Lyn from housekeeping. She was consistently friendly, kept our room clean, and took the time to acknowledge our 40th wedding anniversary. Her genuine kindness and thoughtfulness stood out during an otherwise disappointing experience. Lyn is the staff member we will remember most fondly. While we appreciated the efforts of some staff members, the lack of proactive communication and compensation during a two-day power outage fell short of what we expected. Unfortunately, what should have been a memorable anniversary getaway was overshadowed by the circumstances and the hotel's response.
