Overall my wife and I had a good time at the resort. The grounds were kept in excellent condition. The beach was cleaned daily due to the seaweed but ample space to sit or lounge on a hammock. The pool was big and many chairs to choose from. Put your down towel early before (6:30am)or you will not get one with roof! The employees need to enforce the 30 minutes or lose your chairs. The food was good, with many options, but the breakfast foods were warm or even cool. This was very disappointing and it wasn’t for just one day it was for our entire duration (7 nights) Lunch was better and dinner was fine too. More options needed for lunch, just not the buffet. A smaller place for snacks, tacos, pizza, or nachos so you don’t feel like a gluten every day. The room was kept clean by the staff and mini bar was filled daily with no questions asked. Although the room was very musty, our guest services rep, Kilvania was the best, did ask us if we wanted to move but all of our belongings was already out of our luggage. She made all of our reservations and asked all of our questions. She truly cared about us while we were there. Thank you!

Mar 29, 2026Best All-Inclusive I’ve Stayed At So Far
To start, I booked this resort in December, and for months I contemplated switching resorts because negative reviews scared me. In the end, I’m so happy I didn’t switch because we LOVED this resort. For context, my boyfriend and I are in our early 30’s. The travelling I’ve done in my life thus far has been backpacking Europe and Central America, as well as some all-inclusives in Cuba. I feel that context is important because I’m not able to compare Melia Punta Cana to other higher-end resorts as most of my travelling has been about seeing as much of the world as possible and staying in hostels. The only AI’s I have to compare Melia Punta to are the two I stayed at in Cuba. So, with that said, Melia Punta Cana Beach is the best resort I’ve ever been to. Check-In: The process was very easy. Our flight arrived earlier in the afternoon, so we arrived at the resort before our room was ready. We were given our bracelets, left our bags at the lobby, and explored the resort while we waited for our room. Once our room was ready, we were transported there by a trolly. A hotel worker accompanied us and pointed out various areas of the resort and different amenities as we passed by. He walked us to our room from the trolly, showed us where everything in the room was, wished us a great vacation, and told us to contact the reception if we needed anything. Room: We stayed in a Premium Tropical Palms room (non-level), in building 5, on ground-floor. The room was clean and there was no musty odour. The AC worked well (so well I slept in long PJ pants and a sweater every night), and the bed was comfortable. Housekeeping: We came back to our room at the end of every day to a freshly made bed, clean towels, and a restocked fridge. The one “complaint” we have regarding housekeeping is that the coffee in the room after day 1 was only restocked with decaf. I’m sure if we brought it up to the staff this would have been resolved, but we didn’t care enough to bother because we were happy to head to the buffet for our morning coffee. Pool/Beach Chair Game: It’s true, you must be up early to reserve your pool or beach chairs, especially if you want chairs under a palapa. This was never an issue for us because we are early risers and I actually enjoyed getting up to watch the sunrise. There are definitely people who reserve chairs with towels and don’t show up until later in the day, which I felt was inconsiderate. Once we reserved our chairs, we were only gone long enough for breakfast and lunch, or beach walks, and it was obvious that we were actively using the chairs because all our belongings were there (compared to some who simply “reserve” chairs with one resort towel). Food: We were non-level so didn’t have access to Quimera, and we also never took the time to book the al-a-carts so I can only comment on Serendipia and Mosaico buffets. We never had a problem finding anything to eat. My boyfriend regularly commented on how good the food was, and because they switch up the themes for dinner the food didnt feel repetitive for a 7-night stay. Staff: All staff were extremely friendly. I think they appreciated it when you attempted to speak spanish, even if it was just to say thank you or simply ordering your coffee in spanish. Service: We always had great service. Our water was filled as soon as we sat at our tables for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and drink orders arrived promptly. Resort: As everyone mentions, the resort is stunning and I was in awe of the landscape every day. The staff are constantly cleaning, and maintaining the grounds. It was all very aesthetic, and so peaceful. Beach/Pool: There was a tiny bit of sargassum, however the resort cleaned the beach every morning so it never accumulated and we never had a problem walking the beach or swimming in the ocean (though this is never something we would blame the resort for because other than raking the sand there isn’t much they can do about the sargassum in the ocean). The pools and surrounding pavers were always clean. Some people mention dirty pools in their reviews, however this was not our experience at all. There is occasionally debris in the pool from the surrounding trees and shrubs (very minimal), but I wouldn’t consider that to make the pool dirty, and the resort staff were out every morning scooping the leaves out. Otherwise, the pool water was clean and clear - there was no murkiness, algae, or weird smells. All in all, we absolutely loved our stay at Melia Punta Cana Beach and my boyfriend and I both agree that we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this resort. It was a sad day when we had to leave and hope to be back again in the future.

Boys trip at Melia Punta Cana
Booked Melia Punta Cana adults only for a for a boys trip and it didn't disappoint. The staff and service is great. Definitely recommend booking this resort
