Beautiful island, terrible resort. Save your money and stay somewhere else. This was our first time visiting Maui, and while the island is stunning, the beaches are world-class, and the local community is wonderfully welcoming, this hotel was a massive disappointment. The property is badly run down, but the real issue is maintenance and cleanliness. Our room felt neglected and dirty upon check-in. The "A/C" barely moved air, and it took two full days of repeatedly asking staff just to get the empty soap dispenser refilled. The pools look nice from a distance, but up close they are poorly maintained, and past their prime. On top of that, the nickel-and-diming is out of hand. The resort fees are steep, yet they still expect you to pay an extra daily fee per person just to use the gym. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to charge us for asking for extra trash bags at checkout. To make matters worse, we experienced a two-day island power outage. I know high-wind shutoffs happen for wildfire prevention—that's smart and not the resort's fault. What was their fault was the utter lack of communication, preparation, or care for their guests. With cell service down and no electricity, the hotel essentially abandoned everyone. Their idea of emergency support was a vague note taped to the elevator and two glow sticks. No updates, no guidance, and no effort to help stranded visitors. The local community completely outclassed this resort. Huge shoutout to the local food trucks stationed next to the hotel. Also, Pineapple Robot and L&L Hawaiian BBQ, who worked tirelessly to keep everyone fed, charged, and informed. Make sure to vist them if you stay in west Maui, top self meals. Maui is incredible, but this resort is an overpriced headache that only cares about taking your money. We still have one day left before checkout, and I honestly can’t wait to leave. Do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else

My home away from home for 10 days... And Aston Maui Ka'anapali Villas, never disappoints. I've stayed at high-end / standard resorts on Maui but as a repeat this resort wins every single time!! Starting with the amazing staff of Rain, Joe, Gwen, and Juuvene the Aloha spirit is real here and their care/hospitality was truly appreciated during my solo stay. Secondly clean room, amazing property just to stroll and take in the gardens and of course my favorite the beach. Mahalo for making yet another trip to Maui absolutely amazing ❤️

Wonderful Property
We had a wonderful stay! The room was clean and tidy. The entire team was great, but a special shoutout goes to Joe at the front desk and coffee stand—he was incredibly welcoming and friendly the whole time.

Best place to be!
We love MKV! Perfect stretch of Kaanapali beach, gorgeous waters, fabulous property. We even had dolphin visits multiple days! Castaway Cafe has short rib loco moco that is to die for, and the Beach Shack is so convenient for renting chairs and gear. We come every year.

Perfection on Kaanapali Beach
I haven’t stayed anywhere else on Maui, but I have no reason to look elsewhere. We’ve stayed at MKV in 2021 and 2026 and were very pleased with our accommodations on both occasions. Rooms are spacious and updated (thought they’re individually owned condos, so I believe it depends on the owner). I feel the value is fair. A beautiful pool for days when the ocean isn’t so nice, but the location on Kaanapali Beach with views of both Lanai and Molokai cannot be beat.
