Love this resort! Format is a 1 bedroom well equipped apartment with kitchen/washer/dryer etc. with 2nd bedroom a “lock off” ie can be accessed separately or joined with the 1 bed. Lock off includes microwave, toaster, large fridge/freezer. Villas 1 lock off is 2 beds versus villa 2 which is 1 bed and sofa bed. 2 story blocks. Either a downstairs or upstairs room. Resort is well maintained, great to walk around, several pools and other facilities. Suits families with kids of all ages, couples of any ages. Activity centre if you want to use it. Well equipped gym. Walk or shuttle to JW marriott (excellent sushi in lobby bar).
Excellent Stay, Fitness Classes w/ Jessica a Big Plus.
We had an excellent stay at Villas II. The two bedroom, two bath upper floor unit was very lovely and spacious. Pools and amenities were enjoyable as well. A big surprise were the fitness class offerings. I was seeking Zumba classes in the Palm Desert area, but then realized that the villas offered aqua fit each morning, Pound and a class called Vibe which was extremely similar to Zumba. The fitness classes are conducted by Jessica Tarrant. She is a joy, professional, rigorous and the resort is fortunate to have her commitment and efforts. It added to my overall experience at the resort. It was such a benefit for my body and mind!
Can Be Better
Overall this is a good and well located property and while the rooms are dated, they are well appointed. The property is generally clean and well maintained and staff are good. The main reason for my unfavorable review is the bed in our villa felt like it was 10 years past its prime. When you take a trip to relax and you can't sleep due to the poor quality of the tilting, lumpy and itchy mattress, it defeats the purpose. This should be a 4 to 5 star review otherwise.
Guest room layout not so great
We were unable to get a one bedroom villa, so we opted for the guest room. The layout was poorly done and had an uncurtained bathroom window that allowed too much light in the room. I would not recommend their guest rooms. The facilities, however, were beautiful.
No Wi-Fi for 3+ days!
Although the property is lovely and we enjoyed the villa accommodations very much, in the middle of our 6 night stay, the Wi-Fi went out. And sadly, it never came back on. We got very different and confusing answers whenever we would call and ask the status, but ultimately they were still trying to fix it when we were checking out yesterday. Add to this, the fact that we had very poor cell service all over the property, but especially in our room. After two days, we were sent a text saying that they had set up an area in a lobby with limited Wi-Fi connectivity but it was far away from our room. Plus, it was inside and we have been trying to avoid being inside with other people due to not wanting to catch Covid. I find it hard to believe that this problem couldn’t have been fixed more quickly. It seems like whoever was in charge really dropped the ball. This made for a very unpleasant situation. If you decide to stay there, just be sure you don’t have work you need to accomplish.
