    The BEST Staff

    Since my review is a few months after we stayed, some of what I normally would comment on is now out of date. I will give a quick overview then basically this is to call out many if not all ( even if we didn't get names ) the amazing staff at this resort. The weather in mid December was pretty good with only 2 days out of 7 being overcast/drizzly. It did rain each evening/night though which wasn't too bad as the resort is so lush and green with gorgeous flowers due to the rain. At least it wasn't an everyday all day situation with cloud/rain. The buffet was much improved from out stay in December 2021 thankfully. This time we were aware of the Club Breakfast in the Italian, although nobody had mentioned this to us, I learned after reading reviews/the forum here on TA. We went to the steakhouse ( much better in 2021 sadly ) and the Japanese ( meh ). The beach was stunning and hardly any seaweed/sargassum thankfully. Lots of lounges available. Here is where the resort stands out IMO, the staff. Not once did we encounter any rude or miserable staff, not once, no matter which department they worked in. If any staff didn't say HOLA first, then we would and there faces would break out in a huge grin and a return HOLA was given. We figured that some staff who don't really have that much contact with guests maybe don't know enough English or are shy or maybe they think we don't want them to talk to us? As soon as you make the first gesture though, things change and they are happy to say HOLA! I'm basically an introvert so I get it. Some staff names that we encountered and remembered that deserve shout outs: Dario, Olbus ( butlers ) Maribel ( house keeper ), Maxima, Anylina & Santa ( club beach bar ), the piano lounge bartenders, Junior ( bellboy ) and Maria ( buffet ). The hostesses and wait staff in the buffet were all awesome and always always smiling. There are more staff, that we personally interacted with but we cannot recall their names to give a personal shout out to. If we return to Punta Cana in the future, near or far, we'll most definately come back to the Elegance.

    Excellent service and experience

    We thoroughly enjoyed our trip here. Anything we needed was at our disposal. Our butler, Arling, was incredible. He was fast at responding, met any need, even ones we didn’t know we had. He was kind and thoughtful and thoroughly enhanced our stay and I was so thankful for him. We stayed in the adult only section and it was worth the extra cost. Staff is diligent about keeping it adults only and the extra services are fantastic. The resort was clean and every person we dealt - cleaning people, servers, dancers, front desk, etc were incredibly kind and helpful. Our rooms were thoroughly cleaned and restocked every day. The all inclusive services were excellent, we never lacked for anything . There was plenty of entertainment and activities provided. We felt welcome the moment we walked in. The only thing i missed was local cuisine. All the restaurants are catered to American tastes. It would be lovely to have a choice of local cuisine.

    Wonderful Vacation

    Another absolutely wonderful vacation at the Majestic Elegance. We stayed in the Elegance Club and were very well taken care of and pampered. Any requests we had were immediately addressed. We are repeat customers and feel like family with some of the staff. Olbis’s our butler is the best, we will always request him, top notch customer service. The pool bar staff, bartender Ismael was a blast and met all our needs whenever he saw us, the pool concierge’s Starling and Franceau made sure, we had what we needed, towels and cabana’s available. Awesome staff. We’ll be back next year. *****

    From disappointed to feeling like home

    The beginning of our trip started out a bit rocky, we moved rooms and things began to improve! Our butler Olbis has gone above and beyond to ensure we had the best vacation possible! The staff here are friendly, helpful, and work very hard. The resort is older but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Bavaro beach is one of the best, long white powder sand and you can walk for miles. I can see why people return year after year to the majestic, the staff treat you like family. I wrote a negative review when we had difficulty at the beginning and I deleted it, as the staff not only made it right, but made us feel welcome and appreciated enough that we will be back! My favourites here are the main lobby bar, the gym, the Italian restaurant, the beautiful grounds, and the beach, but above all the staff!

    Two stars for the hotel (club side) Five stars for the staff

    Five stars for the staff and two for the hotel on the Club side. We stayed for at the Majestic Elegance Punta Cana on the Club side. The service was five star! From housekeeping, the bartenders, hostesses, wait staff, and butler - they were all amazing!!! The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The food was mediocre at the buffets. The steak house, Italian and French were outstanding but we found the Japanese restaurant was not good at all, it was quite greasy - we all agreed that different chefs make a big difference in how the food is prepared there. The club pools and beach were amazing. The vendors on the beach were a problem though. BUT beware of where you are at in the Club section. We were the first building, closest to the theater in a Jr. Suite. Our balcony unfortunately overlooked the road between the Majestic Elegance and the Majestic Mirage Club Family Swim Up Suites. For someone who is an early riser, before anything is open, I wanted to enjoy my coffee on the balcony. Sadly the noise from all the trucks and people down below was very loud. At 7 a.m. they were blowing leaves. I understand that they need to maintain the property, but what a way to ruin someone's vacation. The family suites right across from our balcony on the other side were full of screaming children, especially early in the morning and later in the evening. I was there for an adult ONLY vacation. No one mentioned I would be feet away from another resort's family swim up suites and loud people, construction from the other hotel and constant noise from vehicles and motor cycles. My quiet morning time was ruined EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. In the building we stayed in (all the room numbers started with #4) you could hear everything from the theater. So if you happen to return to your room before Karaoke is done you will get to hear all of it. It was awful. As far as rooms go - it was okay. Our phone didn't work so we couldn't call room service and it took days to fix it. Several other things were broken as well and the hotel puts everything on the butlers to fix - there is literally no one else to call. Need to have towels by the Jacuzzi replaced, call the butler, need more coke or water, call the butler, need more anything, call the butler. They simply run these poor butlers ragged and then have them tell us their jobs depend on our Trip Advisor reviews. For this reason I will not mention any staff names. We were not offered the opportunity to change rooms which we would have done in a heartbeat, especially if it meant we would be near the couples we were traveling with. Room service refused to bring us a pot of coffee saying they could not provide it at the time (I called every day), they only would bring the coffee and pour it in the cups provided in the room and it was lukewarm at best. It took one hour for breakfast to arrive. We didn't order room service after that. While we loved our housekeeper more often than not we were not provided with new hand towels, wash cloths, shower mat or replacement towels by Jacuzzi. We put all of our dirty towels on the floor so they knew to replace them - that just didn't happen. Sadly my Spanish is limited so I could not communicate with her. So again, message the butler. While we have been to the Dominican before, we had not been to this resort. The couples we traveled with were return customers and knew the ropes. They were able to contact their previous butler using WhatsApp to make all of our reservations ahead of time, including Il Botaccio (Italian), Limited Gourmand (French), golf reservations and room/building choices. Unfortunately we were unable to get a preferred room. Our butler did say if we made stayed there again to contact him and he would make sure we had our room choice. The theater shows were below average. They use the same performers for each show. Our butler was a kind man, but it would take sometimes up to two days for him to respond to requests, so we stopped requesting anything. We saw via Facebook what some butlers did for their guest, decorating their rooms with balloons and flower petals, birthday banners and anniversary banners. It was my birthday, they knew it and no even a door banner. I felt kind of left out as another male we were traveling with got the royal birthday treatment from his butler. I know how the Majestic will respond, it will be a "Thank you for your review, sorry you were dissatisfied with your room....." I know nothing will be done to change it and for this reason we will not return to the Majestic Elegance. The whole room experience ruined our vacation.
