My wife and I stayed in an adults-only swim-up room. The room itself was spacious and well-appointed, though a bit dated. That said, it was very clean and clearly well maintained. The swim-up feature was a great perk and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. There were, however, a couple of disappointments. Surprisingly, the view from the adults-only swim-up room overlooks the children’s playground, which was a bit of a vibe killer. In addition, there was no poolside service at the swim-up pool. I even called the front desk to request drink service and was told someone would come, but no one ever did. Despite these issues, the overall service throughout the hotel was excellent—staff members were consistently friendly, polite, and welcoming. Overall I would definitely recommend this property and would stay there again.

We had an amazing experience at Marriott Los Suenos with our family of four. The biggest surprise were the flocks of macaws that decended upon the grounds each morning! They were so beautiful! Also, shout-out to the Ocho restaurant - best Mexican food we had in Costa Rica!

Jan 02, 2026Definitely not a Beach Resort!
The name might be the most deceiving name of a resort that my family has ever stayed at. We asked for a higher end resort on the beach. While it is on the beach, the beach is terrible. Nobody uses it, it’s GROSS! We arrived late and fully expected to wake up and jump in the ocean but it had to be the pool all day, which for our family was a huge disappointment The pools are nice, but not over the top awesome and are somewhat boring. There are limited chairs by the pool, so you must get up early to reserve a seat. The bar in the pool is tucked away in the corner and has limited seating so getting a drink is difficult. The rooms are nice, however we were fortunate enough to have an animal In our air conditioning duct that kept scratching and waking us up. They sent up a very nice new employee that did nothing to resolve the issue. If you call the front desk for reservations, all they do is transfer you around.. They honestly should rename it Golf and Pool Resort! What a DUMP!

Extremely poor service
The property is nice but service is very poor. No recognition of a Mariott elite level, had to ask for bathrobe and slippers which was not provided in the room , service in all the restaurants very slow. On the last night I got food poisoning and so asked for late check out after a rough night but was told that was not possible. In a property of that size it seems unlikely that they are not able to give one room two hours extra for checkout. So while the property is upscale, the service does not follow.

Paradise in Herradura
I LOVE this resort. The place is beautiful, and the combination of luxurious pools and the bah is heavenly. The staff is so friendly, always going out of their way to help. Esteban especially has been wonderful to us, as has Liliana and Ashley in the spa. I can’t wait to come back!
