Honeymoon - Not the best but not the worst
We picked the Kauai Beach resort for three reasons, close to the airport, pools and the ratings. Please note that we did eventually find each of the resorts that Costco offers during our stay and would say this is better than most. We actually spent more time at Kauai: Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort. 100% recomend spending the extra money and going to the Grand Hyatt instead. Great pools, amazing food, free bikes and its actually a resort vs the Kauai beach resort is apartments that are privately owned and managed by the hotel. Our transfer from the airport was wonderful 100%. Upon arrival to our resort we were given a room that was severely neglected. (Paint was peeling off the walls, dirty, vents were covered in dust and build up) We did ask to change rooms and were given one available. This room was clean and much better although it was an updated room it still needed work. 100 % recomend the spa services. The couples massage was wonderful and great customer service. The gift shop and the coffee shop was one of our favorite places. We visited every day and compared to every other shop we visited had everything we needed or wanted. Great selection and staff was wonderful. The food was disappointing, we received $50 towards meals through Costco at the resort and after our first meal we felt that if it were not for the rebate we would of chose to eat at other places on the island. Improvements - more water refill stations - better trained wait staff in restaurants - the bar food inside is low quality with little flavor / the restaurant at the resort had some good plates and some that left a lot to be desired. (Don’t order the crème brûlée, it was cold every time) - shuttle service to airport - heating the pools

Nice stay
The hotel is in a good location (perfect from which to drive to famous sights, restaurants, shops, etc.). You have to pay for parking, but they have a gated section near the entrance. The ocean view was pretty, however, be aware that you cannot swim or surf at the beach here (rocks and rough), and there are not any beach loungers or umbrellas on the beach itself - all of those are in the pool areas (multiple pools and spas). The service was good here, and the food and drinks were delicious. Friday nights they put on a small Hawaiian show by the main pool with singing and dancing, along with one free mai tai per person (get a token for the drink at the front desk). We stayed in building #3 on the first floor, which had a patio and overlooked the green grounds, along with a partial ocean view. Many wild birds on the hotel grounds, which was nice.

3 Day Business conference trip
Hotel, pools, beach, rooms are outstanding. Conference rooms and food service are a different story. Conference rooms were extremely cold, food service provided for the conference was always cold, even the hot seafood dishes, steamed veggies were hardly cooked. For a Hotel of this caliber this is appalling.

Do not stay! Bugs in the room. 4211
We reserved a garden view. Glenda said she will upgrade our room to beachfront for no charge. Upon entering, we saw bugs on the bed and bathroom wall , the door frame would came attached as we open and close the room . I confronted her she said Do you want me to help you or not ? I asked her if they screened the rooms before they rent them out? She said They did! She had such a bad attitude and gave me an ugly stare. This portion of the hotel was being renovated and it seemed we were the only ones on the second floor . Glenda doesn’t need to be working at the front desk . She gave a garden view but with lot of attitude. I will post the pics. She just left bad taste in my mouth. I would not recommend this property. If you afford it stay at name brand hotels .

Just don’t.
Let’s start with don’t believe the pictures. It doesn’t actually look like the pictures. It’s old, ran down, and smells weird. We are here on business for a conference so I didn’t have a choice but to come here, and that’s actually the worst part because I can’t exactly leave like I want to. The first room they put us in was overlooking a mud yard with construction trucks. They called this “garden view” lol lol. I asked for an ocean view, and the manager (who is the literal worst) was argumentative about how we didn’t request an ocean view and it states we wanted garden. I explained that I’m not saying it’s not my fault, but would like to not look at a mud hole. She put us in a different room right, down on the first floor, where the mud hole was right on ground level with us. So when we told her that was a weird move and not an upgrade, and not even parallel, but actually worse, she was rude, argumentative, and sarcastic. We ended up going back to overlook the mud. Sigh. Not that I’ll be coming back to Kaua’i anytime soon, but if I ever did, I wouldn’t even stay NEAR this place. But maybe I can save you from this. Just don’t. All the other bad reviews are spot on, and the good ones are from people with low expectations.
