Summertime
Where did good hotel highly recommend it!! I stay in this hotel about nine days and it was very good . The food is very good. It’s over priced, but still in the summertime. You cannot go somewhere far away because of the heat. The staff is very polite . The room was very good and very clean .

First time on Phoenix
The JW Marriot Phoenix Desert Ridge resort is a nice golf and family resort. It is build to host conferences and other large events. The golf course is great, the pools and outdoor facilities very nice for families with young children and couples without. The fitness is very well equipped and the staff is very friendly. Rooms are spacious and the only downturn is the fact that you have to pay for parking. All in all a great place.

Spectacular!!
Wonderful and beautiful! You must go! Everything was perfect from the lazy river to the slides and the modern room! We had the best time. It was literally empty in the pools this week!! We were on the second floor near the pool..perfection!

Staycation
We are locals and wanted to get away for the weekend. We have stayed at many different resorts in the area. I will be avoiding the JW for the future. For what you pay they had poor customer service. We did Vallet which is 40$ overnight. However, no one even helped to retrieve our bags. When they bring the car up they turn the car off. Would be nice to leave on when it’s 115 degrees outside. The front desk was insistent that I had to have my phone on me and could not text or leave a message when my room was ready. The room was not cleaned well, when I pulled the curtains back there was old French fries under them. The pool was extremely frustrating, they make you wait in line to search your bags for outside food, and then again to put bands on. The bands are paper and easily come off and are floating in the pool. To find a seat was very difficult and the pool was packed you could barely swim. I overheard they sell day passes for the pool. Service by the pool often took awhile due to location. I’ll be choosing a different hotel for our future staycations.

Great property limited dining options.
Usually I have no problems with big resort complexes and the various amenities, after all I'm on vacation and should not need to worry about the small things. A couple things just stood out to me as just not correct. 1) I understand that periodically you must refresh dining options, however when you only have limited options for dining, it just doesn't make sense to totally close one of your 2 full service options to dine: leaving customers with the option of Bar food, pool food, or fitness options in the spa. that would be fine if I was much younger, but I prefer to dine in a dining area without the extra noise generated at the pool or bar area. 2) the only breakfast option is the buffet in the one remaining full service restaurant. the problem with the breakfast buffet is that there were 2 price points and no other option for a breakfast made to order. 3) there are numerous dining options about 1/2 mile away so you won't starve, but it just doesn't make sense that I'm here at a fabulous resort without dining options, so much so that if I was within driving distance of home, I would have cancelled and went home, taking a financial hit. One would think that Marriott has enough people managing experience to handle this situation, but they seemed totally oblivious to the fact that people who stay for a week will run out of options. there are ample personnel and kitchen space so that this situation shouldn't occur, after all there are huge conferences at this facility all the time. My take away is I went to a fabulous golf resort and had to go to the mall to eat, not a good look for Marriott. I have been to many fabulous Marriott properties and never had such a problem, sadly I seriously doubt that if given a chance to return her I would pass up this option, and I will from now on make sure the dining options are in fact available prior to booking another Marriott experience. Dismal all around
