Hotel and Marietas Islands trip review
Great food, clean, not crowded, good entertainment. I went on a snorkelling trip to the Marietas islands and it was one of the highlights of my trip. Talk to the dive shop on the beach. Excellent guide and Mexican crew. Great bird watching and lots of fish on the coral reefs!

Keeps getting better!
This is our 3rd time visiting this resort and it keeps getting better. (Improved seating areas and restaurant reservations) Staff has upped its game — every staff member you walk by smiles and makes a point of saying hello. The service at the bars, restaurants, housekeeping and beach is all outstanding. (Thanks Adrian for the delicious mango margaritas). Food is awesome. The buffets have a huge selection, are well stocked and clean. Fish tacos at beach and snack bar by pool also a hit with family. We choose this resort because it’s relatively small, the beach is amazing (clear ocean with no seaweed) and the ocean front rooms are awesome. The sunset bar is stunning. Rent boogie boards for the week at the dive/sport shack. Try Teddy’s massage on the beach. We often look around at other vacation spots but keep coming back. Thanks to Iberostar for another beautiful vacation.

Frustrating Experience
We paid $4,500 for this stay, and unfortunately, the experience did not match the price at all. We arrived at the hotel around 4:30 PM after a long flight, hoping to relax and get something to eat, but all the restaurants were closed and we had to wait until 6 PM. That was a frustrating start to our trip. Before arriving, I called the hotel to arrange a birthday dinner and was told it wouldn’t be a problem and that I could make the reservation upon arrival. However, once there, we were unable to get any reservations until the last two days of our stay, which was very disappointing. When we got our room, we had requested two beds for three people, but there was only one bed. We had to return to reception and wait again until another room was assigned. The rooms were below expectations. The beds felt old, and there was no hair conditioner in our room. The second room was also not properly cleaned—when we returned the next night, it was still dirty. When we reported it, we were told “sorry” and that it would be cleaned the next day. The drinks were not good throughout our stay. One of the worst experiences was at the French restaurant: my mom ordered fish, and it arrived cold. The restaurant was so dark that we had to use a cellphone light, and we realized the fish was undercooked. The staff apologized and offered another dish, but we decided to leave. The only positive part of our trip was that we finally had a good experience at La Guate Pancho Mexican restaurant. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially considering the high price we paid. We definitely do not recommend this hotel.

Great great great! Can’t wait to go back.
We decided to have our wedding here and we are so glad we did. The resort was stunning, the staff was very attentive and friendly, the buffet/food was incredible. All inclusive is the way to go, you can walk up to any restaurant/bar and order whatever you want. No limit, It’s dangerous. Our wedding coordinator was Adriana and I feel so lucky to have had her. She was so attentive, we had been emailing back and forth for months. The wedding turned out perfect and was everything we hoped it would be. Thank you so much to iberstar for the amazing experience.
