Pretty but wont go back.
Pretty resort. Staff not very friendly like other countries. Many never said hello as you walked by them. Big communication gap. Many didnt speak English. How is that possible when you work in a resort? Pool was always dirty. It's a gradual pool so at the walk in part is was always floating with gross yellow foam in the morning, totally grossed me out. So many bugs, hair, paper floating and nobody cleaned it during the day, kinda gross. MANY kids in big pool with DIAPERS on, REALLY GROSS!!! The kiddy pool is right next to it with slides, fountains, water fall, animals to play on and they played in big pool. As for excursions...keep in mind they do not include the travel time so a 3 hr. excursion will be 5 or more. Pool bar & beach bar had menu of drinks not just anything you want. The nightly entertainment was good. VERY humid in evenings. Buffets small but had decent choices. Yogurt is like soup but tasty. Specialty restaurants were impossible to get into. We only could get 2 reservations for 7 nights. Coffee shop open 24/7 which is nice. Again, very pretty but we just wouldn't got back to this Iberostar.

Great overal experience
I have been to many AI resort in my life (mainly in DR, Mexico & Cuba) therefore I can honestly say that this one rates very high looking at price/quality value. - Specious rooms, a bit dated I admit but kept very clean - Great food, the buffet was actually better than the many à la carte restaurants they propose. A different theme every night, everything was fresh and very tasty. - Decent drinks at the various bars with no pressure to having to tip everybody all the time in order to get a good service. - Beautiful beach, hardly any seaweed, more than enough chairs for everybody. - Very friendly staff everywhere - no exception We did have an issue with having no electricity in our room the first day. It took a little while to get fixed but we received a free massage as compensation. If I have the opportunity, I would certainly come back here and I recommend this resort highly

Beautiful resort
We stayed poolside, and steps away from the beach in Room 1305 a junior suite. It’s a beautiful resort. We lost power 3-4 times in our week visit. I won’t come to Punta Cana again in May, it was so humid, it was very uncomfortable. The food is ok, I ate at a few restaurants but preferred the buffet. The coffee shop is in the lobby, good ice coffee. I brought a little jar of instant coffee because the coffee here isn’t very good, also the coffee maker didn’t work. The bartenders, waiters and maids were very nice and helpful. Our room was close to the beach bar and pool bar, 5 minute lock to the lobby. We took one excursion 1/2 day snorkel trip with Happy Fish, small trip 10-12 people, it was good. The entertainment was good, but I was drenched and uncomfortable.

Mixed experience at Iberostar Selection Bavaria and Coral Level
First the good news: The resort is beautiful. The landscape is nice and the beach area is beautiful as well. The buffet (both at Iberostar Selection and Coral Level are good). The a la carte restaurants are nice and a level up from the buffet. Everyone working at the resort is trying to keep customers happy (thanks Yolanda for making the restaurants reservations ahead of time). The evening programs were nice. Second the not so good news: Problems with the room. After upgrading our room to the ocean from presidential suite and waiting an hour to be ready not everything worked as expected. The TV in the living room was not working and it took a couple of phone calls and a day to have it fixed. The jacuzzi which was advertised as part of the room did not work either and it took two days to have it fixed. The A/C in the bedroom could not get to a cool level during the entire stay. And finally one night the electricity went out at midnight and didn’t come back until the next morning (intermittently). No explanation or apologies from the hotel was ever provided). So plan your expectations accordingly.

Was expecting something more
Beach and gardens were gorgeous. Room was not cooled by the air conditioning. Sweated all night. The employees do not speak English. Food was fair at best. French restaurant was best. Cockroach in our bathroom. Angelina at our quiet pool bar was the highlight of our trip. He can sing like a pro and makes delicious vodka mojitos. The front desk ( Ernesto couldn’t have messed up our reservations more if he tried). Spa was nice and pretty relaxing. Please be aware they play fast and loose with the term “casino”. It’s really a dozen slots and a couple tables. I’m not sure if booking at the Grand Bavaro would get us the true 5 Star experience I was expecting but doubt I would return to this one.
