  Second stay

  This is our second time staying here this year and we cannot fault this hotel or staff. The accommodation is clean, modern and beds so comfy. The service is second to none. Special shout outs to Miriam and Abdoulaye. Miriam was so friendly, always made sure we were ok and even remembered our room numbers - she is such a lovely lady. Abdoulaye Always greeted us with a big smile, and made sure our drinks were always topped up. He even remembered our order and bought our drinks over without us asking! Such a sweet guy. Also need to mention Antonio who served us in the outside bar in the evening. We always looked forward to seeing him, he is so funny and again always makes sure you have everything you need. We absolutely love this hotel and we will be back again next year!

  OMG- Take Me Back!!!

  The BEST time at The Anthelia- our first time at the hotel (but not first time in Tenerife). Everything about the hotel was perfect- rooms and pool areas are stunning and there is so much to do. My 13 year old is a bit “too cool” to do kids activities but loved Aqua Gym at the pool everyday and the teen facial at the spa. Food was delicious and the pool bar service was second to none- big shout out to Miriam at the pool bar and Luca from the Entertainment Team (your Aqua Gym class is epic). We only came for a week (as a family of three) during half term and SOOOOO sad to leave!!! Location for all the bars and restaurants at Fañabe Beach if you want to venture out is perfect and Siam is just a 10 min/10 euro taxi ride away. Can’t wait to see you all again in 2027 xxx

  A Lovely Stay, but Room for Improvement

  We had a lovely stay at the Iberostar Selection Anthelia in Costa Adeje. The location is fantastic, the hotel is very clean and the overall service was great. A special mention has to go to Miriam at the pool bar, who was absolutely incredible. She went above and beyond to make our stay even more special. She was always so welcoming, friendly and attentive. She really deserves recognition! The rooms are lovely and spacious, with plenty of room. However, one thing worth mentioning is the lack of privacy in the bathroom. There is no proper door separating the bathroom from the bedroom, which could make things quite uncomfortable for siblings or friends sharing a room. It would be great to see this improved. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent. The sunbeds were washed every morning, the bedsheets were changed daily and the whole hotel was kept to a very high standard. My bed was also extremely comfortable, and the entertainment every evening was brilliant. Unfortunately, the buffet food was a major disappointment. We noticed a definite decline in the quality and standard of the buffet compared to previous visits. You can clearly see the cutbacks in the food, which is a real shame for a hotel of this standard. The food was honestly shocking at times and definitely needs improvement. Despite the disappointment with the buffet, overall we had a good holiday and enjoyed our stay. The hotel has so much potential, and hopefully the food standards can return to what they used to be. A huge thank you to all the team, especially Miriam at the pool bar, for making our stay special!

  Gets better every time

  I’m writing this at the airport after our fourth Halloween half-term at the Anthelia and another fabulous holiday. For us, this hotel gets everything right. We stay in a duplex suite as it works well for us as a family of three, the sea view is also amazing. The food is another highlight, we go all inclusive and are very happy with the offering. The facilities are also brilliant, the pools are well maintained and the resort generally has an upmarket feel. For me though, what makes the Anthelia is the team, everyone you encounter is friendly and willing to make your holiday as good as it can be. Big thanks to the Animacion team (Bruno, Katy, Luca, Sofia, Andrea, Diamente, Miguel and all the others) who do such a good job in the Kids Club but also the infamous noon Aqua Aerobics, which sets you up nicely for lunch! The team also put on two nighttime events for the Halloween week, including a silent disco (always a favourite for the Mums) and a masked ball. These were epic! I also joined in the fitness classes this week with Andrea, and made some new friends whilst she trained us hard (in a good way!). These sessions were a highlight for me as it felt good to be burning off the buffet calories but Andrea also taught me lots of new exercises and helped with form. If you’re heading to the Anthelia, check out these sessions, the Healthy Back one was great for releasing tension. A few of us noticed that there were lots more activities this year, we didn’t really have to leave the hotel as there was so much to do on site. One stand out was the sound bath, I was asleep within minutes! All in all, excellent resort with a wonderful team.

  FRIENDLY HOTEL. SECURE, SPACIOUS GROUNDS. BEAUTIFUL GARDENS. SUITABLE FOR FAMILIES AND COUPLES. HIGH,Y RECOMMENDED.

  This has been our 8th possibly 9th stay at the lovely Anthelia since 2015. We first went to the Anthelia in 2015, which was also our very first time to Tenerife. Our welcome and satisfaction in this hotel has been such that we have never tried any other hotel on the island. It has become our "home from home." We are always too afraid to try anywhere else and run the risk of disappointment elswhere. The only years we missed in that time was when my partner suffered a heart attack in 2016, and the year where travel during Covid was not possible. The hotel has a prime location with access directly onto the promenade, with La Caletta a manageable walk away in one direction, and Las Americas and Los Cristianos in the opposite direction, however they are a walk that is manageable, but cosnsiderably longer. Travel further beyond Los Cristianos by bus to Silencio. Buses to all of these resorts run regularly and fares are very inexpensive. A short bus journey will take you to Los Gigantes with its harbour and its backdrop of mountains with tiered houses appearing to perch on the hillsides. The hotel can book you on trips which can take in the mountainous, lush green areas in the North of the island, stoping of at places like La Laguna, a large city with a busy food market with a vast array of fish and plenty of locally grown food produce; and other tourist attractions. La Laguna was the original capital of the island. Some of these trips to the North stop briefly at the beautifully decorative Church of the famous Black Madonna. Almost everywhere you go there are many places which sell boat trips and hire sports equippment such as jet skis etc. The Anthelia is based in Adeje, which is a quiter location than Las Americas and Los Cristianos and we find this preferable. It is a hotel which was built in a grand style, with extensive grounds , beautifully laid out in extremely well tended, large garden areas, and it gives the feeling of much greater space and security than could be found in newer hotels where space to build is at a premium. Before the name change it was known as The Gran Anthelia. The different wings of the hotel are all named for Operas such as Aida, Carmen, Daphne, Butterfly etc. Some of these wings fan out in a generous "V" shape, with rooms along each side, enclosing a central garden which is open to the sky and filled with tropical plants, trees which reach up through each of the floors. Some contain small fountains. There are swimming pools to satisfy all needs. There is a large pool which slopes gradually in depth which is excellent for adults and parents with small children, with a small shallow paddling pool to the side for young children, and backing onto the larger pool is a seperate, very large and much deeper, seawater pool. Further to this there is a small but generous pool just off the central walkway, which is in the shape of a cross and has water of an equal depth all around, which is never beyond the shoulder depth of most adults. Go further along the pillared concourse, lush with more planting, and you will come to a secure, enclosed area for young children with their parents. This pool boasts a pirate ship and a variety of slides etc. The animations team frequently host special fun days there. The hotel itself is magnificent though a little tired in some places but we love it just the same. The reception area is magnificent and classically grand. The staff are wonderful, mannerly and welcoming and happy to do anything for you. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the welcome you receive when you return is just wonderful and personal. The dining room is beautifully laid out and very spacious and the food is generally excellent. Rooms are cleaned daily and bedding and towels changed and staff come again each evening to see if additional towels are required, and offer a chocolate or too as well. All of the staff are genuinely friendly, including the wonderful portering staff, the engineers if a problem is encountered, and even the gardiners offer a friendly greeting. I could say much more, but I have gone on too long. I could mention many of the staff by name but do not, as I am fearful of leaving someone out. Needless to say we love this hotel and all the people who make it so special, and others feel the same, as we continually meet many guests we have got to know over the years, many who have been coming a lot longer than us. It is an excellent hotel for families with children and older couples as well. We recommend it highly.
