I had a great vacation the Hyatt Ziva. The location is on a wonderful stretch of beach and is very private. My room was wonderful with an ocean view and balcony. The buffet was very good and the staff were tremendous

Perfect getaway !
Everything was perfect, the staff is exceptional ! Exception… You should have a piano bar or a band at night for the apéro not only at the sport bar where all the kids are at night, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Great location with an amazing private beach
Stayed 5 nights at the Hyatt Ziva and enjoyed each day on the beautiful private beach with cool blue water. Lots of food options, some were hit or miss but overall enjoyed the diversity of options. Blaze is right on the water with amazing sunset views for dinner and morning breakfast. Highlights is a nice mid day lunch bar with great drinks. Alondra and Saira provided A+ service. Beach service was quick and cabana rental was worth the extra money. Overall would highly recommend and will definitely visit again in the future.

Mar 27, 2026Paid for an Upgrade, Received a Maintenance Project
We originally booked a nine night swim out room through WestJet Vacations. Upon check in, due to low resort occupancy, we were offered an upgrade to a Penthouse Suite for the duration of our stay at an additional cost of MXN 31,778 (approximately CAD $2,500). Based on Hyatt’s reputation and the premium nature of the accommodation, we accepted the offer in good faith. While the ocean view from the Penthouse Suite was undeniably spectacular, the condition of the suite itself fell significantly below expectations and was inconsistent with both the cost of the upgrade and Hyatt’s five star positioning. Throughout our stay, we encountered the following maintenance and cleanliness deficiencies: • Toilet paper holder separating from the wall • Shower wand non functional • Tiles detaching from the plunge pool • Patio furniture cushions severely faded and deteriorating • Patio concrete structure visibly stained and worn Individually, these items were disappointing; collectively, they pointed to a suite in need of substantial maintenance and capital reinvestment rather than one being marketed as a premium accommodation. Most concerning, however, was a persistent and extremely unpleasant odor in the lower level of the suite. The odor was severe enough that we often felt compelled to move quickly through the area to reach the bedroom level, detracting materially from our comfort and enjoyment. This issue alone rendered the lower living space largely unusable and is not something one would reasonably expect at any Hyatt property, let alone in a Penthouse Suite. In addition, food service follow through was inconsistent. On multiple occasions, dinner dishes left in the hallway overnight were still present the following morning—an experience inconsistent with industry standards and the elevated guest experience Hyatt is known for. At checkout, we raised these concerns with the front desk. Unfortunately, the response lacked urgency or ownership, and the only remedy proposed was a nominal offer of Hyatt Points. We clearly communicated that points would not be an appropriate resolution given the nature of the issues and the additional cash expenditure incurred for the upgrade. We were advised that a follow up email containing a compensation proposal would be sent; however, this communication was never received. I would like to emphasize that the staff, dining experiences, and beach offerings were outstanding, and the service provided by your frontline team was warm, professional, and genuinely appreciated. That said, guest rooms—particularly those carrying premium upgrade pricing—are a core component of the overall guest experience. At present, based on our stay, the Penthouse Suite condition aligns more closely with a three star standard or below, rather than the five star experience associated with the Hyatt Ziva brand.

Would go back in a heart beat. Gorgeous location, incredible staff, and great food. If your kids arent interested in the beach or pools they might get a little bored. For the younger ones, Kids Club rocked and the staff there was incredible
