  Lovely Location

  This is a really lovely hotel we spent 10 days with our friends here. If you dont like mosquitoes this is not for you unfortunately,they are everywhere & can cause quite a issue. We visted in October not sure if that was the reason,for this reason we would not return which is a real shame as its a lovely place with a lovely setting. Getting here took approx 25 minutes feom the airport. The rooms we had were bungalow's with preferred club access. The room was nice just a shame we had part of the last people's drinks in the mini bar which had not been checked,we did have to ask for the minibar to be restocked on quite a few occasions. As we had arrived early we were given a card to access the preferred lounge,which had a good range of premium spirits,wines & beers,local spirts & even Guinness in cans 😀 There is a selection of snacks,meats,cheese to have.Elina & Monica were brilliant in there & so friendly. There is a balcony you could sit out at and enjoy the view. The Buffet had themed nights,our biggest disappointment was the food was luke warm or cold within a few minutes on cold plates,we found a few days before leaving a hot plate trolley,this was tucked away & not obvious,which helped immensely. The al a carte restaurants were good that we could get bookings for,our favourite was the YiaYia it based on a Greek Taverna,the food was really good. The floating water was fun to do it is not easy. The Bearfoot Grill was our go to for lunch times,Aggelos & Elena looked after us,he knew after a couple of visits what everyone wanted drink wise as soon as we had sat down he got the order in,this was a perfect place to have a light lunch & drink or 2 out of the sun. With the preferred club you had access to a separate pool which was nice,the staff would come round from 11am asking if you wanted drinks etc. All the staff we met and spoke with were polite & helpful. You do need to be aware getting around there are some steep steps/slopes,they do have a golf buggy if required to assist. Having the preferred club was a nice bonus,yes it did cost more but for the extras it was worth it in my opinion. Overall it is a lovely resort & lots of restaurants,unbeknown to us the certain places were closed as out of season,this was not mentioned anywhere until we arrived. We all agreed we would stay at another Hotel Ziva just not this one due to the mosquitoes or visit earlier in the year if they are not a issue then,it only rained the day before we departed.

  There is much to like about the Hyatt Ziva

  What a wonderfully friendly hotel. There is much to like about the Hyatt Ziva. The staff at this excellent hotel are just superb. This is expecially so in the main restaurant near reception, where the service is incredibly attentive. Check in process was extremely personal, where we were taken to a table, given a welcome drink and a full explanation of how the hotel app worked and what was available. The quality of food throughout the hotel is very good and what makes this place standout from other all inclusive packages is that you can use all of the restaurants, not just the main one. You do have to book into the other restaurants, although you are not limited by how many times you want to go. The food in the Greek restaurant is particularly good. Drink choice is good and many are well know brands. Maybe a wider choice of cocktails could be available, altho to be fair, if you ask for something not on the menu it is likely to be made for you. The pool bar next to the Italian restaurant ran out of Cranberry juice one day, which did limit the cocktails on offer. I'm sure that some could have been obtained from one of the many other hotel bars? The pool choice is good, although the water in the main pool is freezing! Fine for a hot day, but as we went in October the Corfu weather can be very unpredictable! The grounds of the hotel are so beautiful, with great views across the bay and the hills of Albania can be seen in the background. Rooms are well maintained, with the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in at a hotel. Combined with the excellent blackout curtains, we slept better than we would usually. The minibar has complimentary soft drinks, water and beer and is meant to be refreshed daily, although we did have to ask at reception for this to be done, even though it is advertised as part of the service. Likewise, we had to ask on a number of occassions for milk cartons, as these weren't being replenished. Minor gripes, but important to get right at a hotel that aspires to such high standards. Hotel entertainment is not something we are usually that bothered about, but the standard here is really high and worth checking out. It would be great if there were more than one pool table (and one that doesn't slope quite so much!!). In such a large complex, one isn't really enough and because of the rain we used this facility regularly. One final thing to love. No all inclusive wristbands - thank you!!!! So, all in all we would very much recommend this hotel. If we return to Corfu (which we will, but not in October), this will be our hotel of choice.

  Relaxed vibes

  Having read some negative reviews I was a little worried but in all honesty it was amazing from check in to check out. We arrived and we're offered a welcome drink while being checked in, the check in process was smooth and efficient. We were given a hotel map , all amenities were explained and then we were taken by buggy to our room. The room was spacious, spotless , well equipped with all we needed, we had a balcony with a lovely sea view. Our room was cleaned everyday, towels replaced and each evening we had a turn down service. We had difficulty trying to book the A la Carte restaurants on the app but as soon as we went to the desk our reservations were made without any issue. The restaurant food was really good, the staff extremely pleasant. We ate at Yiayia ( Greek) Oceana ( Seafood) Tratoria ( Italian) We also had breakfast, one dinner and one lunch at the main buffet restaurant, the selection and variety here for every meal was increadable. We didn't really use the pools as we spent our time on the beach, there were always loungers available, towels on demand . The tables and beach area were kept clean and the bar staff were friendly. There was entertainment each night that was enjoyable, the drinks were premium and again the barstaff were lovely. The hotel has conveniently positioned water refil stations all around the resort. Beautiful location, stunning views, helpful pleasant staff, good food and wonderful cocktails.... What's not to love. We are very grateful to all the staff who helped make it a lovely dew days

  October stay

  Lovely hotel, stunning location. The grounds are beautiful and the view out to sea is actually more of what you would expect in the italian lakes. The island is so lush and I couldnt help note and research all the interesting flowers and trees. We stayed prefered seafront bungalow ( actually booked a preferred seaview bungalow but we were upgraded!) The view was incredible and probably the nicest view I have ever had from a room. The room was really spacious, spotless clean and regular friendly maid service. We had breakfast in the buffet restaurant which had amazing choice and all the food was lovely. We didnt receive much service for coffee / tea but you could go and get this yourself easily. We did find breakfast could be a little busy and the layout not great but all the same it was very good. We also ate in preferred lounge for breakfast if we wanted a smaller breakfast in a quieter area. Although we were preferred we did not use the preferred pool once. We found it a little uninviting. Its a fairly small pool and faces a hotel block. Layed on arrificial grass and there was no service round the pool. This area was disappointing compared to other dreams hotels / hyatt ziva we have stayed at. We did use the seafront pool as it was heated and had some lovely views, conveniently located next to restaurants / snack bar/ toilets and had drinks service around the pool occasionally. This is a lovely spot but does get very busy with families and kids having fun splashing! We. Have children ourselves but had gone away as a group of friends for some respite so an adults only area near that pool would have been spot on. We did also go by the lagoon pool and loved this area which was much quieter. Having read some recent reviews about green slime around the pool, we could see some discolouration but it was nowhere near as bad as we had read in the reviews and the pools themselves were very clean! We ate at all the a la carte restaurants except for pappous which was closed. We made reservations in advance by emailing the hotel. We enjoyed all the restaurants and found Yaia our favourite and also the italian for choice and quality. Drinks were all very good and plentiful. There was very little table service in lobby area at night which was a little unexpected for a hyatt ziva hotel. However the bar queue moved fast and it wasn’t too much of a problem. Evening entertainment “out of the movies “ was incredible and probably the best hotel singers Ive heard. The rest of the stay was a bit of a washout for entertainment due to weather conditions. ( we did stay end of season) All staff were very helpful and friendly. Theres a buggy service to take you to your rooms with your luggage and they arrange to pick up when you leave. Last thing to mention is that we did actually use the preferred lounge a lot. If thw weather is poor its much easier to find a seat there and you can pour your own drinks, of which there is a great selection with premium drinks and a good choice of snacks. There is a lovely balcony area and it’s adjacent to the lobby bar balcony too so you can hear the entertainment from a quieter area. I would rate this a very good 4 star hotel and a quieter family hotel. Don't go expecting lots of entertainment, there is some but I would say better for quieter families and couples which we quite enjoyed. Great hotel, lovely stay. I would go back.   A Great Week

  We have just returned from a week here, 4th-11th October & we had a fabulous time. Like many others, I had considered trying to change after the reviews in August but I’m so glad I didn’t. We were on a package with British Airways Holidays and stayed in a Sea View Double in the main building. The view was probably the nicest view we’ve ever had from a hotel balcony, it was stunning, the photos do not do it justice. The room was a great size for two of us and we had plenty of storage. It was cleaned, towels changed, mini bar restocked, coffee capsules replenished and floor mopped every day before 11am. The food was great and the drinks were plentiful. We had no issues getting reservations at the A La Carte restaurants, we mainly used the reservation desk to book these. I personally preferred the food at The Seaside Grill at lunchtime (I think it’s called Oceana at lunch and no need to book). I thought the evening menu was a bit limited there but lunch was amazing, with more choice. We also ate in the Italian & the Greek restaurant twice, both excellent. The hotel was busy and yes, at times on a rainy evening, the bar area was very full but I can’t see how this could have been avoided when the weather was bad. We never waited long for a drink and always managed to find a seat. I did once get served my Espresso Martini in a wine glass but I managed😂. I can’t comment on the pools as we didn’t use them, we opted for beds on the beach. Never had an issue getting beds and appreciated the waiter service for drinks! Also, as a woman in my mid fifties who has never quite mastered the ‘Halle Berry getting out of the sea with ease’ walk, I quite appreciated the stairs in and out of the water 😂 We weren’t preferred, just bog standard class but I honestly can’t think what additional benefits that would have brought.
