Best Hyatt Property in Sacramento by far
i have stayed here before, it's a very nice hotel. Decor is slightly dated, but not offensively so, and i believe they are renovating. Regardless, rooms feel luxurious due to the architecture and hitting the basics like a luxurious bed, a decent mini fridge, good space and a nice bath. Front Desk is extremely friendly, accommodating and professional. This property is across from the State Capital so they must be used to VIPs and it shows. Location is great, rooms are quiet and comfy, food options in and around the property are abundant, and it was a great pool & gym. i highly recommend.

Location: great. Must walk the literal one block to the Capitol Building. It's so stunning. Beautiful architecture all around. A few homeless people in that area but all of California's downtowns in larger cities have a lot of homeless people. We live in CA so we are very familiar with that sad reality. There is a convention center across the street on the other side of the Capitol Building so I'm sure that's convenient so people don't have to get a car. Atmosphere: The hotel was VERY busy when we were there. It felt like a Vegas hotel with the amount of people in the lobby. The staff in the lobby and around the inside of the hotel set a friendly atmosphere, though. (Valet not so much.) Rooms & Cleanliness: Our room was very comfortable, super quiet considering the busyness of the hotel, and clean to a point. The sheets and towels were super clean, as were the counters and mirrors. Surface clean is what I would say. The bathroom door had a ton of handprints on it and there was build up of lint and grime on the baseboards and in the nooks and crannies of the bathroom floors, ceilings, walls, and vents. It needs a deep clean. You can tell it's been a long time since it had one. Value: Kind of a lot for the cleanliness and the somewhat dated rooms. Some of the stuff was upgraded but a lot of things seemed a little tired. I would expect to pay about $50-75 less for a room like that elsewhere but I know they charge a premium for the location near the convention center and these are business class rates where companies pay for their employees to stay here. That's their main customer. Not the road weary parent who is stranded in Sacramento (that's me). Noise Level: considering how packed this hotel was, the quiet in the room was shocking. We did have the fan running as we do at all hotels for white noise, and we run a white noise app on our phone, but usually we can hear doors and loud talking and the rooms next door or above us and at this hotel we barely heard a peep. Service: 9 out of 10 stars, specifically because they went above and beyond to make my (up to that point) horrible birthday better. The front desk gave me drink tickets which we used for the most delicious mocktails ever, and the room service attendant (Raul) was so compassionate and kind after he could clearly tell I was having a rough day and he came back with a piece of birthday cake for me which honestly totally turned my whole day around. That kind gesture made the biggest difference and, even though we weren't going to leave the room, we ended up going to the pool after that. Amenities: The pool area was super nice with tons of lounge chairs and cabanas (some you have to pay extra for which is bananas). We went later at night - around 8:45 or 9, and the "heated" pool was definitely cold. I said that maybe they heat it for 10 minutes a day so they can say that it's "heated". I couldn't go in. My kid, who goes into any body of water no matter the temp and usually says I'm a chicken for not going in, was shivering in the pool. It's not heated like a normal heated pool. The jacuzzi was packed knee to stranger's knee so we couldn't go in. There was like a line to use it. Such a bummer. They need a larger jacuzzi. Food: VERY good and an insane amount of options. I will note that the prices are exhorbitant (did I spell that right?). Prices will be much cheaper off site. You pay for convenience but the food is really delicious - we had the salads with steak and salmon and breakfast in the Vines restaurant downstairs. The mocktails were absolutely so great. Highly recommened.

Nice weekend getaway!
Great hotel in a perfect location of Downtown Sacramento. Wonderful staff and great rooms. This is our 'go to' for local staycations.

Great stay with great staff
Friendly but polite staff who are very attentive to the customer’s needs and go above and beyond. It was a trip to attend a conference so I didn’t leave the hotel but I was happy being there.
