Easter Break at the Hyatt Regency Maui
Fantastic hotel. Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Maui over Easter break. The hotel seemed to be at full capacity but the staff never seemed overwhelmed. We appreciated the recreation staff ensuring pool chairs weren't being saved and unused allowing guests to have a seat by the pool.

Beautiful Stay in Kāʻanapali, but Pricey
The Hyatt location was great, and the staff were friendly and courteous throughout our stay. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which was delicious, and the small waterfall view made it even more pleasant. That said, the hotel felt overpriced for what was offered. Our beach-view room did not fully meet expectations because trees blocked much of the beachfront view. The beach itself was nice but small. The biggest disappointment was that many of the included activities were not actually available during our stay. Coconut weaving was not available for 3 weeks, lei making for 5 days, coconut husking for 2 weeks, hula class for 2 weeks, kukui nut bracelet making for 1 week, and ukulele lessons for 2 weeks. Since we stayed for 5 days, most of these activities were essentially unavailable to us. In the evenings, there was also very little to do. The parking situation was also very inconvenient. Spaces were tight and limited, and the closest lot filled up quickly. We often had to park far from our building in a distant lot with no lighting, which was frustrating. Charging $20 per day for self-parking felt unreasonable, especially with an additional $20 daily resort fee already being charged. Overall, while there were definitely positive aspects to the stay, the high room price, extra fees, limited activity availability, inconvenient parking, and blocked beach view made it feel overpriced and not worth the value.

I would stay somewhere else
I stayed at the Hyatt as part of a business conference, several hundred people. I have stayed in several Hyatt resorts and this is by far the worst. At check in I was given a room that smelled to mold. They at least changed our room. The pool was over run by unsupervised kids, 10 years old or less. The jacuzzi was completely over taken by kids, some wearing floatation devices they were so little. There is no beach to go to on property. We ate dinner at Sonz’s steakhouse and had a roach walk under our table. Restaurants are average at best and extremely expensive. I would suggest the Marriott or Weston.
