  Wonderful Stay

Wonderful experience. We stayed in the retreat room. Turn down service was great. The rooms were very clean. We also had reservations at the Windflower. The BEST pecan cookies ever! The amenities were great and relaxing. Very quiet and restful.

Overpriced stay marked by poor service, thin walls, and unresponsive management

Given the premium nightly rates charged at this resort, my expectations were significantly higher, particularly regarding basic service and amenities. Unfortunately, this stay fell well short across several key areas: Communication & "Upgrades": Prior to my arrival, I received a welcome email from Mr. Gabriel Rezende da Silva. I replied inquiring about room upgrades—explicitly stating I was willing to pay extra for one. He went completely silent and never responded. The "upgrade" I was ultimately assigned at check-in was disappointing: it had the exact same dimensions and configuration as a standard room, situated on the ground floor at the far back of the resort. To make matters worse, the small patio had no privacy separation from neighboring rooms, leaving it directly exposed to anyone walking by. Calling this an upgrade felt like a token gesture. Delayed Housekeeping: Housekeeping was repeatedly delayed until late in the afternoon, making it difficult to access the room when I simply needed to rest during the day. When asked, staff repeatedly cited high guest volume. However, anticipated demand should be properly staffed to maintain basic standards. Sound Insulation & Facilities: The walls felt paper-thin, offering virtually no sound insulation; I could hear conversations and noise from adjacent rooms and hallways throughout the stay. Additionally, the fitness center is far too small for a property of this scale and becomes overcrowded with just five or six people. Overall, between the unaddressed communication, lack of privacy, noisy rooms, and understaffed operations, the property did not deliver the level of quality or hospitality expected for the price.

Beautiful Resort, Wonderful Wedding Weekend, and Exceptional Staff!

We recently stayed at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas for a wedding, and we had such a wonderful experience! It was our first time visiting the property, and we absolutely loved it. The resort is beautiful, the atmosphere is fantastic, and it was the perfect setting for a memorable wedding weekend. As longtime World of Hyatt Globalist members, we’ve had the opportunity to stay at many Hyatt properties, and one thing we’ve learned is that exceptional employees are what truly make a hotel special. We especially want to recognize Niva Salinas from the Rooms team, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Niva was incredibly accommodating and helped arrange a beautiful suite for us. The personalized attention and genuine hospitality made us feel truly appreciated. We also want to give a special shoutout to Criss at the front desk during the night shift! Criss was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. It’s wonderful to encounter employees who genuinely enjoy making guests feel comfortable and taken care of. The entire weekend was a fantastic experience, and we left already talking about when we could return. The resort itself is beautiful, but it’s people like Niva and Criss who make us want to come back. Thank you to the entire Hyatt Regency Hill Country team for such a memorable stay. We can’t wait to visit again and would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone visiting San Antonio!
