My family and I had a confirmed spa booking for Saturday the 4th of April, which was arranged as a special occasion to celebrate both my mother’s and my older sister’s birthdays. As you can imagine, coordinating availability for all of us is very difficult, which made this occasion particularly important. Upon arrival, we were informed that our booking had been incorrectly scheduled for Sunday 5 April, despite us holding confirmation for Saturday 4 April. This error was clearly not on our part, yet no meaningful effort was made to resolve the situation. We were told there was no availability due to staffing issues, and no alternative arrangements were offered that reflected the significance of the error or the occasion. While a refund was mentioned, this alone does not adequately compensate for the disruption and disappointment caused. What was most concerning, however, was the low level of customer service from the staff but especially the conduct of the duty manager, Victor. Rather than demonstrating understanding or attempting to de-escalate the situation, his manner was dismissive and unhelpful. At one point, he stated that allowing us to use the spa facilities was a “favour,” which felt entirely inappropriate given that we were there for a confirmed booking that your team failed to honour. At no stage did we feel that genuine customer care or effort to resolve the situation was demonstrated. The lack of empathy and professionalism significantly worsened an already frustrating situation

Apr 08, 2026Dog & Family friendly stay. Brilliant location
We had a fantastic stay at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham this April. I traveled with my child and our dog, and the hotel was incredibly welcoming to all of us. What we loved: The Location: Absolutely fantastic. It’s central and makes exploring the city very easy. Wellness Facilities: The sauna, spa, gym, and pool area are top-notch. We spent a good amount of time there, and it was a highlight of the trip. Pet-Friendly: It can be a challenge finding high-quality hotels that accommodate dogs so well, but we felt right at home. Overall, a great experience for a family break. We’ll definitely be back!

Outdated decor in rooms. Not a luxury feel as you would expect. Asking for decaffeinated coffee at breakfast time was painful - lots of errors kept being made. Main entrance inside the hotel is very impressive but that's where it ends.

Happily stay here again.
Great location for getting around central Birmingham, to/from new street station. Well kept facilities, spa area was very good( could do with replacing the floor matting- bit grubby). Gabbi who checked me in & out was a dream. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Apr 03, 2026Nothing wrong with it, but at the same nothing special for the price.
Bit pricey, but it is very convenient for the city and tram. Nice pool and spa, one or two areas in need of a bit of a clean/maintenance, but nothing to put you off staying, and overall, pretty decent. Staff were friendly and helpful during my limited interactions with them. Room and bathroom were fine, a bit on the warm side, but fine... apart from the lack of cold water. Both taps seemed to be hot, and this also meant there was no temperature control in the shower. The main drawback however is that it does feel slightly dated, like a lot of American hotels do, maybe it's deliberate as an American chain, but I feel it would benefit from a bit of modernising and updating. I stayed in April, but it's the kind of place I imagine wouldn't have air con, or if it did, it wouldn't be very effective in the height of summer.
