    Decent stay

I always like to stay near the airport before I leave Houston. Check in was very easy and super friendly. The room was clean and my request of not near the elevator was honored. The bed is comfortable and I love that there are places to charge electronics bedside. The morning shuttle is efficient, but I recommend getting to the lobby early. There are no reservations or list for the shuttle. Once the van is full, that’s it for the next 30 minutes. My only criticism of my stay is the M Lounge access. We were there on a Saturday night. The only drink offerings were soda, water and a coffee machine that needed cleaning and did not offer decaf. The crunchy snacks were strewn all over the counter and stale. When we checked in and asked about the Lounge, we were not told that it is not open on weekends. The website states 24/7 with breakfast, bar service for a fee and appetizers. As a suggestion, maybe an appetizer at the restaurant which would encourage the purchase of a dinner…..

    Customer service

Excellent service…ask for Yang at the restaurant. He’s the best. Ask about the Chop House Soup. You might not expect it to be as good as it is. Judy is also excellent. Ask her about the Texans. She is an expert on this he team. Also, Camika and Kingston at the front desk….very nice.

    Awesome stay! Super helpful staff!

Full disclosure, I am a Marriott premium member. What a stay. I was at the Hobby Marriott for two days for a business trip and the stay was nothing short of fantastic. I'd like to give a shout out to Comeka at the front desk who was super helpful at check-in and with some questions about local places to eat around the hotel. The hotel is located about 5-10 minutes from the Hobby rental car area and easy to get to going either way. The room was very comfortable. The bed is "Marriott Standard" meaning that they do not deviate from the standard bed that is found in all Marriott properties that I go to. The room at plenty of electricity around the bed for charging and any medical devices that you may have. HVAC was able to keep the room cool but here's a pro-tip: Keep the black-out curtains SHUT during the day to help the HAVC to keep up with the rising temperatures during the morning and throughout the day. The concierge lounge was open in the evening and was comfortable and quiet. The evening selection could use some improvement or, better, replenishment after the first wave of people hit it. I arrived after my job one evening and about an hour after the lounge opened and it was pretty slim pickings. I checked out on a Saturday and the lounge was closed, but had access to the breakfast buffet and was able to get a good meal before my Saturday's travels. One of the best Marriott stays for business I've had post-COVID. Keep up the great work!

STARTED OK BUT WENT DOWNHILL WITH FEW EXCEPTIONS

So my sister and I stayed at this location in April 2024. She booked the rooms as she is an Elite member and we got two adjoining King rooms. I got to the hotel and found that it is the type of hotel where the hallway is open so you can see down into the lobby and they have a glass elevator. That is something I should have paid attention to and looked at further pictures of the hotel. I never would have stayed there as I dont like heights. My fault not the hotels. We go to the rooms and they were very nice. Nice modern bathroom, everything seemed clean and comfortable. We put some stuff away and went to have lunch with relatives. While we were away my sister telephoned the hotel, explained the situation on my not wanting to be on that high of a floor and they moved us to the third floor when we got back. That is when things started to change. My tv had the cable unplugged and I could not get it plugged in so they sent someone up right away to fix it. That was fine but my sister's phone was not working and they said they would send someone to repair it and never did. It was incredibly cold so we mentioned it leaving for the evening and they said they would send someone up. When we got back it had gone from incredibly cold to hot and the phone still did not work. I was able to sleep most of the night and we were busy the next day so didnt mention it. Before we left for the day we had the breakfast buffet and we enjoyed it and the female server we had who was very nice and in fact we had her all three days and hated to tell her goodbye. We came back late in the evening to a still hot room but again since they had moved us I thought I could sleep again through the night but I woke up at least twice as it was too hot. The next morning I got up and my sister told me she had ants on her counter. We stopped by the desk on the way out and told them about the heat and the ants. When we returned that evening both rooms had been cooled down however she discovered ants on the bed she had been using . They were gone from the counter and now were in the bed. She went down to the desk and they informed her they could move her to a room around the corner from mine as they had no one to take care of the ant problem that night. She moved her items into the other room and when I went to help her came back to discover that I no longer get into MY room because the keys would not work. I dont know if it was because she had moved her room and her name was on both rooms or what but after going back to he desk not once but twice for new keys with no success they sent an employee up and he fixed my door. This was after my sister's keys didn't work the first day and they had given her a new set which never worked but we didn't bother changing them because my room was connected. The hotel itself was beautiful. The employees were helpful but the things that occurred should never have happened in the first place. I would not have stayed at this hotel again due to the height thing but certainly would have recommended it to to others without that problem. However they kept stars for the hotel itself, the service in the buffet and the employees but lost two due to all the other incidents and I can not recommend staying here at this time.
