Best hotel near Hobby
This is the ONLY place I stay when flying out of Hobby after business travel. Proximity to airport is great. Staff is always friendly. Buildings beautiful inside. The rooms are always above and beyond Marriott standards, clean, well kept, QUIET and large! Don’t look any further. Stay here!

Struck in the head in my room.
Recent stay at the hotel for business trip. Hotel is in close proximity to the airport and clean. My issued occurred in my room. When I got up in the morning to access the closet for the iron&ironing board the electrical pane released and struck me in the head. I was not injured severely or bleeding. I was stunned and begun swelling up. I got dressed and went to the lobby to leave hotel. I explained my issue with the panel to the GM, and he was genuinely concerned and offered to provide medical care. I had to leave to a meeting, and told him I could manage. They provided me with 5,000 Marriott points, but nothing else. I had to get to my meeting and left without further interaction. Check the electric panel above the closet before you open to ensue it is not being supported by the doors. Otherwise staff is friendly.

Good location for a conference
We spent one night after a company conference. We were able to check in before the conference and left the next morning. The room was nice, and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the in-room safe was not large enough to hold a full-size laptop. The hotel has a combination bar and restaurant. The venue was busy that night and the waitstaff was slow to clean tables and wait on customers. Our room had a window with a leaking seal and the view was partially blocked. Our room was on the freeway side of the hotel and the room was very noisy.

This is a Marriott hotel ?
We have stayed at MANY Marriott hotels. This one felt like a Motel 6, not a Marriott hotel. It is an old hotel that has not been properly maintained. First of all…. “It’s ALL about the BED!” The biggest priority of any hotel should be a high quality mattress. This hotel has cheap and/or old mattresses that sag and are uncomfortable to sleep on. The second priority should be “the breakfast”. Unfortunately the $15 breakfast buffet offered at the restaurant is no better than the free breakfast offered at all of the cheaper hotels nearby. To be fair, Lonnie at the front desk and Imelda at the restaurant were great! (Just not enough to make up for all the other issues)

Excellent One-Night Stay near Hobby Airport
I was delighted with my one-night stay. I was in Houston on business for less than 24 hours and needed to be near the airport. The Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport met my needs perfectly. I took the hotel's airport shuttle which runs every 30 minutes from outside baggage claim. My flight arrived shortly after noon on a Saturday, and the shuttle was on time and convenient. I did mobile check-in, but my room didn't clear before arriving at the hotel. Fortunately, another room was available for early check-in. I was in a corner King room on the fifth floor. The room was recently renovated, clean, spacious, and tranquil. The bed was comfortable, and the walk-in shower was refreshing with excellent water pressure. This location has an M Club Lounge where I spent an hour or so working on my laptop and enjoying a machine-made latte and snacks. Unfortunately, my early flight on Sunday morning prevented me from trying out the M Club breakfast. The only glitch during my stay was a parking charge on my bill, even though I told the check-in agent that I didn't have a car. I didn't catch it until I got home, but the hotel quickly removed it when I emailed them. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, hopefully for a little longer.
