Staff is amazing
I got stuck in houston for 3 nights over xmas. The staff at this hotel made our stay the best. They took care of us, and made us feel at home. Vicki, Judy, Ikena, and Cecilia were the best. The hotel is nice, but the gym could be bigger.

Good hotel for a short stay
Easy access to hotel from highway, all staff encountered was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not included but was a reasonable price for a big city and large spread of options to eat. Room was clean and adequate for my needs, bathroom has been updated. Would stay here again.

Close to HOU and too Close to the Freeway
This is an older property with 10 floors in close proximity to the Gulf Fwy, near HOU Hobby airport. The hotel is built like an empty box, with the rooms along the border and the empty middle is the lobby and dining area on the first floor, similar to some Embassy Suites. Try and get a room as far away from the hwy as possible. Skip breakfast, unless you are a Platinum member as its not worth the $18 for the buffet. The eggs are powdered but the service was good. They do have a 24 hour airport shuttle that runs every half hour. They have a nice pool, fitness center, spa...but the spa felt like it was less 90 degrees. Too cold. Could not get the AC to run constant fan to provide a little white noise to help drown out the Hwy noise. The hotel itself was quiet...it was the hwy noise that is a problem. Hotel is undergoing a remodel of the rooms interior, but I don't know how that can help the Hwy noise. Most staff are friendly and accommodating. The receptionist nicely moved us to a bit quieter room after the first night.

Better Than I Thought
After reading through the reviews, I was apprehensive about staying here. However, I had a much better experience (overall) than I thought I would. Walking into the massive lobby, the first thing I noticed was that everything smelled and looked clean. Check-in was easy and the receptionist was very nice and helpful. I'm a light sleeper and the room I was assigned was next to the freeway and I could hear some traffic noise. I called downstairs and since I had not unpacked or used the room, he moved me to another room and had a quiet night's sleep. The room itself was very comfortable; I did not have any problem with it being a little outdated. However, the bathroom/shower area looked new and refurbished. The next night there were kids in the next room that were quite noisy. After trying unsuccessfully to quiet them down, they moved me to another room. Again, the receptionist was very nice and apologized for this incident. (Definitely bad parenting going on in that room, but that's a different story.) This could have happened at any hotel. When I checked out the next morning, the staff at the front desk apologized again. I did not eat at the hotel so I can't give any report on the food.

Close to Airport
Can into town for personal business in February. Hotel location was convenient. Lobby and staff were nice, but the rooms were not as nice as you would expect being a Marriott property.. Furniture was dingy and old, but rooms were clean. Glad stay was only for one night.
