Family
Hello, our family loved the Riu, we got there early and we were offered an upgrade which we took as we were tired from travel. We were able to rest and then go see the sites. Unfortunately on the early morning hours we woke up to a horrible sewage smell coming from the toilet/ bathroom, it was so nauseating which also gave my husband and I a headache. We had smelled a slight sewage smell earlier but not to this extreme. At 4am is when we woke up to this horrible smell, I went to the reception desk and told them our issue and immediately your receptionist was apologizing and we were given a new room. All of your employees are absolutely wonderful, kind, sympathetic and can not compliment enough. When the bellboy came he immediately smelled the room and said yes this is bad. We moved to the new room and no issues. We however we sleep deprived as we had an appointments. I do want to say I spoke with the morning manager Esperanza and she gave us a late check out for the inconvenience. We were very grateful and are planning to go back within the next 6 months. We Loved the Riu, much appreciated, sorry this is a long review.

Safe Place to Stay
We stayed on the 2nd floor and the room was spacious and well kept, the included mini bar was a nice touch. This is a great property and they had nightly entertainment. In all honesty as far as 5 star hotels go, this barely makes the cut in my book but it still a great place to stay. Most of all it feels safe and theres always someone around to help.

Great Hotel in Guadaljara
Rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is great with an assortment of many items and very good quality, including smoked salmon and jamon serrano. There is always a selection of typical mexican dishes

Pleasant Surprise
This was my first time in Guadalajara. It was a business trip so the most important issues for me were: ease of getting taxi or Uber, internet access stability, food quality, and quiet nights for sleep. All of these requirements were met or exceeded. I did have an issue with getting my invoice via email. I tried calling a couple of times without a successful resolution. I was lucky that my collogue was traveling there the following week and was able to resolve my issue. I got to enjoy the Spa on my last day which was like the cherry on top. If/When I return to Guadalajara, I will stay at the Riu!
